What To Expect At Kandooma?

Arrival at Kandooma

International flights to Malé will be met by the Kandooma representative, day or night. Even night-time arrivals will be met, including guests arriving around 10:10 p.m. on SQ438 from Singapore. All guests, luggage, and surfboards will be transported to the South Malé Atoll and Kandooma Surf Resort by speedboat. It takes approximately a 45-minute boat ride from the capital, Malé. Upon arrival at Kandooma, one of our reps from Perfect Wave will meet you, give you your surf program, and add you to the WhatsApp chat with daily Surf Program updates.

Perfect Wave Surf Experience

Perfect Wave Travel is the exclusive curator of the surf experience worldwide at Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma. In 2007, we took our first steps on this magical island called Kandooma Fushi, and we have been running the surf program at the resort ever since. The island is home to a private world-class right-hand point break called Kandooma Right, which is positioned just steps away from your luxurious villa. The number of surfers is capped on the island, and you must purchase your surf package through Perfect Wave to ensure your premium surf experience at Kandooma remains exclusive. You can access eight other waves in the area including Rip Tides (Right), Quarters (Right), Foxies (Left), and Tuckey Joes (Left), all via the daily surf transfers included in your surfing package. Learn to surf, Stand-Up Paddle, Yoga, and surfboard hire are also available to ensure we have all your surf needs covered.

Surf Program Inclusions

• Welcome, meet and greet from your Surf Experience team on arrival.
• Daily surf report from the Surf Experience Manager on conditions, tides, and surf breaks.
• Surfer numbers are strictly limited to 45 surfers at any time across South Malé.
• Unlimited access to the Kandooma Right surf break. 
• Scheduled daily transfers to local South Malé breaks including Riptides, Foxy’s, Twin Peaks, Quarters, Tucky Joes, and Kate’s.
• 40ft specialized surf dhonis (boats) with a maximum of 12 surfers on each trip. Surf transfers are approximately 3 hours per trip and depart between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. (subject to weather and tidal conditions).
• Includes assistance and direction from our experienced and qualified surf guides.
• Surf photography and videography available at an extra cost.
• Fully stocked surf shop with everything a surfer could need in the tropics.
• Perfect Wave surfboard rental (more info below).

Surfboard Rental

Perfect Wave Maldives carries a wide range of quivers to rent for your next Maldives surf holiday.
If you cannot or don’t want to carry your surfboard all the way to the Maldives, you can book your preferred surfboard and the board will be waiting for you in the Maldives. Our hub is at Kandooma Resort in North Malé. Please talk to us about how to organize the board pick-up for your surf charter holiday.

Stay Connected

WiFi is available onboard and throughout the resort. While service can occasionally be affected by weather or location, you’ll still be able to check emails, upload a few photos, or keep in touch with loved ones.
