El Salvador
Goofies, a word of warning; Surfing El Salvador is all about the righthand points. The best waves like Punta Roca and Punta Mango feature waves up to 500 metres long that rifle down the cobblestone-lined points. Sandwiched between Guatemala and Honduras in Central America, the tiny country of only 6 million, has waves along most of its 320km coastline. With water temperatures ranging between 25°-29°C and 20 years of stability after the traumatic civil war years, El Salvador is now flourishing as a surf destination.
