The MV Carpe Diem is a 35-m long motor safari yacht with a wooden hull. It has 3 decks plus a sundeck with 10 guest cabins divided in 3 categories and can cater for a maximum of 20 guests. The main open air dining area and bar area is located at the back of the boat where you will be served semi buffet meals prepared by the fine dining chef. From the dining area a staircase ultimately leads you to a 115 sqm sun deck, which is partially shaded and has a sitting area in the middle and some lounge chairs to catch that nice tan.

The boat, Carpe Diem was fantastic, and the crew looked after us very well, the food was spectacular Brian and Nano the surf guides were legendary. The surf was great surfing mainly Cokes, Jails and Sultans. My son and I had a ball, met some great people and had a lot of fun. Will recommend Perfect Wave to anyone and will definitely be back for a third trip.

Surfed a lot (could have surfed more but conditions and circumstances got in the way), dived enough (saw huge manta rays), and had relaxing time as well.

At the eastern reef of North Male Atoll, this wave is a short but intense ride that is perfect for barrels with a steep barelling take off, then a very shallow inside section that opens up even more than the takeoff.
Chickens
North Male
Eastern reef of North Male Atoll. This long, excellent left-hander has two sections with an enjoyable, thin, peeling, racing lip. Best winds are NW-NNE (offshore). It was named because of the poultry farm on the island and is only accessed by boat.
Honkeys
North Male
One of the most consistent waves of North Male Atoll off the island of Thanburudhoo which is uninhabited. This is an excellent, long, world-class left-hander. Its mirror, Sultans, breaks on the other side of the island.

Easy spot located off Thanburudhoo island on the other side of Honkey’s. Excellent and long right-hander that can become very walled and long but only with big swells from the south. One of the most consistent waves of the Male atolls that never closes out, even on large swells. It is best at high tide and with west to north winds.
Jails
North Male
Jails is actually the break off the island Himmafushi which used to actually have a jail on it. The jail has moved to a new one, but the name stays. This wave is a perfect right-hand reef break with a big wack able wall and fats sections to get a few cover ups. One of the most popular breaks due to the fact it isn’t a heavy wave and is normally a little smaller than its cousin Honkey’s across the channel.

Extra Costs:
• Domestic airfares required from Male to Outer Atolls. Allow US$325 each way for airfare and board bag (max 7 foot, 25kg). Note Surfboards as checked luggage are restricted to one boardbag per surfer, Max 25kg and 7 foot (2m) in length. If you are planning on taking more than 1 board in separate board bags you could try taping all the board bags together so they present as just 1 piece of luggage. The surfboard weight is included in the passenger allowance of 25kg, for example: a surfer brings a suitcase + 1 surf bag, total allowance is 25kg. Note there is also a new “Oversize penalty” of US$100 if your boardbag exceeds these dimensions but can still be carried by the airline. But oversize boardbags are at risk of not fitting on the aircraft and could be left behind.

The Charter
Carpe Diem was built in the Maldives completely out of wood by Amir Mansoor who is also the owner of the boat. The boat has 10 cabins divided over 3 decks and can cater for a maximum of 20 people. The surf charter is accompanied by a surfing dhoni (tender) and a small speedboat (dingy). Carpe Diem's main open air dining area and bar area is located at the back of the boat where you will be served semi buffet meals prepared by the fine dining chef. From the dining area a staircase ultimately leads you to a 115 sqm sun deck, which is partially shaded and has a sitting area in the middle and some lounge chairs to catch that nice tan. The lower deck provides for 6 standard cabins, 2 separate staff cabins, the engine room and crew quarters. Themain briefing area and lounge area, with a coffee / tea table offeringyou coffee/tea and drinking water 24 hours a day. It also has a wideflat screen TV, DVD/MP3 player.
Activities
Scuba diving courses include the open-water PADI certification takes more time and has skills classes in shallow water and 4 open water dives before you get certified. You can use the snorkelling equipment on board without problems. Fishing in the Maldives is done by hand line only, even for bigger fish. They provide hand-fishing lines and weights and bait fish, so that you can have a go - Maldivian style. If you would like to do trolling or if you bring your own rods and want to go on separate fishing trips, there will be an extra charge.
Surfing
Carpe Diem sails the North & South Male Atolls and throughout the Central Atolls such as Meemu, Thaa and Laamu Atolls. Central offers spots exposed to all directions and for all levels, so there's always a left- or a right-hander well-protected from the predominant SW wind directions.. All spots in the Meemu Atoll are on a coast line facing to the east. All spots are close to each other so that you can change spots within a few minutes! North Male has some of the best Maldivian surf breaks including Chicken’s & Cokes, while in South Male Quarters & Foxys are just two of the world class waves in this magical part of the Indian Ocean.
