My wife and I both enjoyed our stay at Holiday Inn Kandooma and the waves there. Even though the size wasnft peak season, we were both stoked because it was perfect for our longboarding level. I recently travelled to the Coral Coast in Fiji to stay at Matanivusi Resort for a surf trip with my daughter and decided to use the services of Perfect Wave Travel. From the initial enquiry to the courtesy follow up upon our return, Perfect Wave were absolutely amazing. Super efficient, courteous, punctual, friendly and professional. The trip was so well organised Sylv was incredibly responsive and exceeded our expectations with her communication and answering questions and queries. Where to beginc Perfect Wave has really struck the gold mine and they are doing everything in their will to hold it! The experience was second to none mostly attributable to our surf guide Jinu. Jinu was outgoing, charismatic, easy to get along with (and bloody good at surfing and photography). I will forever be grateful to Mahi and the whole crew of souls who make this luxurious resort paradise for all who enter.

Went out surfing once’s sometimes twice in a day and had a Yoga session every day! Also played beachvolleyball with the local staff and went out for a run up the road to explore the surroundings.

The surf setup at Kandooma with The Perfect Wave is honestly one of the best I’ve experienced. The wave right in front of the villas, Kandooma Right, is consistent, clean, and literally perfect. You can see it from your bed. Paddle out when you feel ready. That kind of access is rare. The wave itself works for all levels, from long rides to fun takeoffs, and if you want variety, Quarters is just a short boat ride away. It’s a beautiful change of scenery with a great vibe in the water. Steve runs the whole surf operation and does an amazing job. He’s calm, professional, knows the ocean inside out, and somehow manages to keep everything running smoothly while making you feel like you’re just out for a surf with a friend. Whether you need guidance, timing, coaching, or just someone to watch your wave and smile—it’s Steve.

What I really love about Kandooma is that it’s made for everyone. If you’re a complete beginner or your kids are just learning, it’s a safe and encouraging place to start. And at the same time, you’ll probably find yourself sharing waves with some of the world’s best surfers. They come here often. That mix is rare. It doesn’t matter who you are—everyone’s here for the same reason. It’s about joy.

Courtney’s yoga classes are another reason this place feels so complete. She’s the best yoga teacher I’ve ever had. Her sessions are intelligent, grounding, and somehow always exactly what you need. There’s the energizing morning classes, the fun challenge of SUP yoga on the water—where falling in becomes part of the experience—and the evening yin yoga, which is especially perfect after a long surf day. That class resets everything. It’s calm, candle-lit, and you walk out feeling like you’ve landed back in your body.

The marine life here is breathtaking. You can snorkel right off the beach and see turtles, baby reef sharks, and all kinds of fish. It’s alive. Bring reef-safe sunscreen. The ocean gives a lot. It deserves respect.

All in all, The Perfect Wave at Kandooma is something special. It’s not just about the waves or the place. It’s the people, the energy, the way it all flows together. I come back every year, and I’m already looking forward to the next.

Kani did not disappoint! Beyond the breathtaking scenery, our family absolutely loved all the facilities, activities food, and friendly G.O’s, making for a truly wonderful vacation.

It is by far the best resort on the island. The views are spectacular, the rooms are beautifully appointed, well maintained and clean. They have three swimming pools, one overlooking the ocean and Mount Agung, a lap pool, gym and ice bath. The staff are friendly and professional. The food and menu in their restaurant Muntigs is world class. So good that we ate every meal here after having previously been disappointed at other restaurants on the island. The spa treatments are beautiful, I highly recommend the facial with natural ingredients. I can’t recommend Batu Karang Resort and Spa and Muntigs Restaurant enough!

My husband and I really enjoyed our experience through Perfect Wave! I just switched from a long board to a short board, so having an uncrowded break with a fast and fun wave was a perfect way for me to make the transition. The crew was professional, fun, encouraging, and an absolute pleasure to be around. I learned a lot watching them surf, and really appreciated the surf etiquette and respectful surf vibes of the Kandooma lineup. From the first phone call to enquire about Kandooma resort to the return trip home was all smooth no hassles, top advice from Charlie, the crew at the resort and Stevo and all the boys taking the boats out to other breaks everyday, jet skiing, snorkelling not to forget the girls there at Perfect wave sorting out my 8 year old daughter with surf lessons and the wife with yoga classes. We absolutely loved our stay at Kandooma Resort in the Maldives. Our accommodation was fantastic with views of the surf. The staff were fabulous, in particular Teigan, Lola and the surf guides. The Asian food at “The Kitchen” was next level. The community vibe at the point was great with drinks, music and daybeds for family watching the surf. Waves went from 1 foot to 5 foot so had a great variance for the kids. So much to do at Kandooma with snorkeling and diving. Perfect Wave are amazing in organising boat trips to neighboring waves. Would 100% recommend.

We have recently returned from a glorious week at the new Maverick Resort on Mundoo in Laamu Atthol in the Maldives. It is the Maldives done differently and truly a unique and unspoilt paradise . The hotel is a collection of luxury tented rooms with outdoor bathrooms right on the beach at the far end of Mundoo . Opening the tent in the morning and diving into the crystal clear warm sea is the stuff of dreams on a cold January day in London . The rooms are gathered round a restaurant/ clubhouse where we were served three truly delicious meals a day by the outstanding South African chef . The entire team catered to our every need and our rooms were serviced before we even got back from breakfast . The GM Anton and Sericha were excellent and so helpful arranging boats for snorkelling trips and our absolute favourite Dolphin spotting . The team were excellent but deeply discreet and the maverick has more of a luxury dessert island feel rather than being like every other resort . A true adventure and safe paradise for families with children or honeymooners alike. We can’t recommend highly enough

on the gorgeous island of Samoa. The accommodations are very spacious and the staff is very kind and attentive.

I’ve travelled to a lot of places in the Maldives and this is like no other experience I’ve had before.

We planned this holiday as a family getaway with some surfing/ relaxing at the end of our trip. The first five days we toured through Sri Lanka with a personal guide showing us the history and Buddhist temple, elephant safari, Yala national park and sigirya rock and then 5 days at hikkadu for surf and relaxation. The blend of experiences and surf location was great and exactly what we were looking for. The tour driver we had exclusive access to was very knowledgeable and able to take our experience to the next level.

Our guide Desha was top shelf. So much family fun, adventures and memories. We all loved it. Perfect to have 2 weeks touring followed by a week in Hiriketiya. Surf was not amazing, but it was perfect beginner stuff for the kids.

Got epic waves. The boat is very good, with excellent crew. The trip run very smoothly. Will be back!

I’d rate it a 6 star hotel and I’ve been around . The staff is great, all of them!! The food is delicious and the views espetaculars. Everything they can to make your life better, they will do it. The Spa Safari is a must go , and visiting one of the local villages is also amazing.Just go people!!

I was just onboard this vessel from 22/08/24 -30/10/24 . Mishu the surf instructor was second to none , his knowledge and kindness made the trip unbelievable, to the crew on board all 3 boats worked so hard to make this trip amazing and they succeeded. They even help me out and planned the perfect proposal location for to ask my partner to marry me !

Mishu, Aloc, Raj, captain, chef and the rest of the crew on Gurahali down the southern Atolls were awesome!! Best service and personal care you’ll ever get, Mishu and captain took special care to ensure our whole family (10 total including couples) was surfing breaks within our comfort level (and sometimes pushing it but in a good way) and that the non-surfers in our family also had lots of options for snorkeling, island adventures and fishing. I could not recommend a better action-packed family holiday. They even went to their own personal efforts to create a stunning surprise engagement for me, as requested by my now fiance. The personal touch was above and beyond and the chef was exceptional!

The experience of a life time , from the surf, snorkeling, fishing to the entire crew setting up a perfect proposal location for me . The meals supplied was second to none and the knowledge and friendless of the surf instructor and boat crew made this trip everything I could have hope for

From my initial reach out to the team at Perfect Wave noting was too much trouble we were even able to alter accommodation options a week or two out. The Perfect Wave team on the island were fantastic and the options for different surf locations each morning and afternoon on the boat gave us plenty of different breaks other than the main break on the island, if you wanted to explore.

Also traveling towards the end of the main surf season worked out perfectly, there were days when I was surfing on my own for hours or with just one or two others.

For those of us with partners and children this is the perfect destination as there is plenty to keep the non-surfers happy from the fantastic snorkeling off the beaches to the day spa, gym and kids club.

Timmy (the captain) and the Ono Niha crew were fantastic. The boat was comfortable and served us well. The food was good and there was lots of it. Timmy was very focused on maximising surf time for the group. He knew when and where the swell was at its best. Best surf was Nias, Treasure Island, Cobra, Gunturs, Barrel Machine and Asu (Asu was heavy). In terms of the swell, it ranged between 3-7ft in the first few days, then it dropped to around 2-4ft. Overall the surfing was epic!!! We all had fun!!

Lachy communicated, answered the questions and booked all 12 of us without any problems, everyone commented how great the service was, the Vamoos app was the best we have seen out of all the crews surf trips we have ever done! Wanted to try something else next time, but when you have such a great trip, you would be crazy to go anywhere else – especially value for money

Had great cultural experience with classic 3-5 ft clean pealing waves ,accomodation was basic single hard beds with short walk to toilets,food was basic but o,k

I went for a month last March. 28 days straight of pumping offshore. Most days overhead. Most days just three of us out. So over the crowds at home. I’m booked back in again in 2025.

Sylvia went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect . One of our group turned 60 while we were on the island and Sylvia arranged a bottle of bubbly and a cake to make Lauri’s birthday special, along with entry to the Music in paradise concerts which was greatly appreciated by all of us. The Perfect Wave staff and the Holiday Inn staff were all fantastic. All in all a great holiday.

Our trip to Awera was exactly as per Billy’s recommendation and was what we were looking for. Awera resort was amazing and the variety and level of nearby waves was as Billy had described.

From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome, and the place is just stunning. The food at the resort was delicious! Every meal was fresh, and they had a great mix of local and international dishes. The kids especially loved the fresh fruit and smoothies every day. The activities were definitely a highlight. My kids had a blast surfing, and the instructors were awesome – really patient and fun. We also spent a lot of time snorkeling and hanging out at the beach, which was so peaceful and beautiful.

Sheree and I absolutely loved Kandooma, the island is magical, the people are fantastic ( loved Yousef ) especially the Perfect Wave crew, we met Jamie and he was great. He sung your praises and I agree best travel consultant ever. Then there was the surf, Absolutely Pumped, we surfed for nearly 30 hours, including 1 day of 2×3 hour sessions at perfect Kandooma rights. It’s definitely a place I want to return to. Can’t wait for the next adventure.

We had one of the rooms with the private pool, which was great after walking around going shopping and getting food out nearby. The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious at breakfast and at the hotel restaurants.

The perfect place to switch off and relax for a week. Everything was amazing – the view, the food, the pool, the spa (I need a recipe for their fresh ginger tea!)… but our favourite part were the staff! They went above and beyond every day and we loved getting to know them across our stay. Thank you for looking after us, we’ll definitely be back 🙂

We had quality waves everyday. Great peak straight out the front of your villa and plenty of other reef breaks, beachies and points a short trip from the resort. The food was excellent. The villas were way beyond expectations and the rest of the resort and pool was really well done. Jimmy made sure we were surfing the right spot for the conditions everyday, the photographer Charlie is an absolute pro and the rest of the team were super friendly and helpful. The resort was great for helping organize our surfboards, transport and flights from Medan. Villas spotlessly cleaned each day. WIFI was good. Absolutely everything was just right. for our 17 y/old son in terms of his his surfing level and access to private break all day was brilliant. The interconnecting beach villas worked a treat for us as we could be together but have our own privacy. For us non surfers all the other activities suggested by Sylv were great. We loved the island. The travel app is excellent, we felt very informed about our trip and having access to info on the phone was so helpful. Her knowledge and advice for Singapore on the way home helped us settle in there too. The service provided by Sylvia was very individualised, professional and friendly. at T-Land Resort in Rote and were more than happy with the thorough booking and organisation from Perfect Wave Travel and we would use the company again. It was great to know that all our transfers, ferry bookings and accommodation were all taken care of and was all hassle free. T-Land Resort was fantastic, couldn’t fault it. Loved Rote and the locals are beautiful people.

We always rely on her recommendations on where to head next and she is great with advice when we throw suggestions at her. Nothing is a bother and she always responds immediately with any requests or questions. The Vamoos app is awesome, and once our trip goes live on it, we rely on it for all our information for the upcoming trip and when we are there.

Perfect weather, Perfect Surf, a Perfect holiday. Not only was the surf cranking but the wife loved the crystal clear waters as the snorkelling was excellent.

The staff on the island were just beautiful people and the food was delicious.

The staff at Sinalei were amazing, rooms perfect and the natural beauty of Samoa is second to none. Always something for us to do from snorkeling, waterfalls, cave pools, treks ect. Neil from Manoa Tours was also amazing and on days i didnt think i was going to surf, he found some waves for us. You had organised everything perfectly like always!!

Waves were good, the boat trips off the resort to other waves and snorkelling were perfect and the resort staff could not do enough to make us feel more comfortable.

The Niyama accommodations, staff, scenery, and waves were all 1st class. Lachlan was a great travel advisor and worked directly with the resort to book room accommodations, sea plane flights, meal plans, and other special events. I would recommend perfect wave travel/Niyama to anyone looking for a luxurious surf trip. Lachlan and I traded countless emails trying to dial in the trip. Coming from the United States (20hr journey), I wanted to make sure it was the trip of a lifetime. Lachlan was extremely patient with me and answered all the questions I asked.

Skilled and knowledgeable surf guides, friendly staff, amazing food! The attention to detail was unreal, best surf trip of my life. Deluxe accomodation, perfect waves, boat trips, diving, fishing, pool beers on sunset, the list goes on. Was a mission to get there and home but was made so much easier thanks to perfect wave. The flights, hotel, transfers everything was made so easy and took the stress out of it. So stoked can’t wait to go back! The whole trip my mind was blown and I said every day I am the luckiest girl alive. So glad I went with perfect wave and chose the best destination.

The perfect wave staff in the resort are always very kind and professional. the surf teacher is really good. The only thing different from the previous trip in August 2023 was that at the airport we had to carry the luggage to the boat, however in August 2023 the resort operator had taken charge of all the bags and after we found them in the room; I think this depends on holiday in and not on perfect wave.

The waves have been fun and Kandooma Right has had really fun glassy waves with no current. Last time it was awful. All to do with the tides which have been friendly. The dive option has been yet another highlight. I’m glad I brought my own gear with me and getting at least one dive each day when not getting pits.

The perfect Wave made it a seemless trip, easy to deal with.

The boat was newly renovated, nice rooms with AC, plenty of areas to sit and relax and certainly never feel you are cramped on the boat. Indoor and outdoor areas with a a great upper deck to watch your mates get barreled or they watch you shredding. Plenty of room to chill and read a book but to be honest I didn’t sit still surfed my guts out all day, every day. The crew were amazing, Daniel the surf guide is such a nice guy and always put you in the spot and encouraged you to get the wave of your life. He never took a wave from you, if anything he hardly caught waves as he was busy looking out for us to catch waves. The crew were on to it picking you and dropping you off whenever you wanted to go. The food was exceptional, every meal was different and made each evening special talking about the day, crushing cold beers whilst enjoying a beautiful meal. I could not fault the experience, flawless and memorable from start to finish. Grab a bunch of mates, contact perfect wave travel and get onboard the Oasis!! Trip of a lifetime yeeeewww

We had a trip on The Oasis in the pre season. Our surf guide and crew were excellent with their knowledge of the Mentawais, putting us into great waves with no boats!

Food was outstanding and the boat amazing. Heaps of shade on the top deck to watch your mates get barrelled while you suck on a Bintang between sessions. You can do the same from inside in the air conditioned lounge area on those really hot days too.

Travel to and from was easy with the Perfect Wave Travel App, it even counted down the days/minutes to the trip!

Just back from annual First Aid/CPR/Surfer Rescue crew training for Perfect Wave Travel on the recently refurbished charter boat “Oasis”.

Great to work with an experienced operator dedicated to providing the best service for their clients.

A great experience from start to end. After having done a few charters over the years this trip eclipsed them all. The boat is large and very comfortable with large lounge areas and a massive upper deck which was great for a sundowner or two with the boys. The chef is sensational and the food prepared was outstanding with a wide variety of cuisines and cooked to perfection. The entire crew are extremely professional and Daniel our surf guide was on point. He knows the islands well and ensured we were at the right break at the right time which resulted in all the boys scoring great waves. I cant wait to get back on board the Oasis, thanks Crew.

Run by surfers who understand the needs of surfers with an exceptional surf guide who rips and encourages you to GO!, but does not take waves from anyone. (This is not always the case on other boats). He consistently put us on the best and most uncrowded waves matching the days conditions. The Chef was sensational, catering amazingly well for my unfortunate dietary (coeliac) needs. The roast on the last day was nothing short of outstanding. The crew were there for anything you needed, incl drop off/pick ups from the surf. They had a well stocked medical kit with a new defib with recent professional training on how to use it. The Oasis is sturdy, handling a rough crossing one night with ease. She is recently renovated with great AC and is spaciously set with a great top deck for viewing surf or hanging out. I believe it has undergone even further upgrades after its first journey for the year, after a keen eye by the staff of what people need and asking the guests for any suggestions. Would love to go again.

Fortunate enough to score the first trip after the boat had a full renovation and it was big and beautiful. 6 massive cabins all with AC and due to the weight of the boat, a nice calm rocking to sleep each night was had. Chef was outstanding and food variety was fantastic. Top deck spacious for evening meals and beers. Tender was bit small, but a new bigger one has been ordered. Sick boat for the Mentawai with a group of mates.

Scored some amazing waves and been on some wicked missions. The food and hospitality is out of this world and the crew here are the biggest legends and super knowledgeable. I have scored some barrels and really enjoying myself. I will definitely be back here next year 100%

28 surfs in 10 days. Great boat the best surf guide I’ve ever had and perfect waves all day every day with a bumper 6ft day to finish the trip.

We had the best family holiday here. Our young family absolutely loved the variety of pools, waterslides and playgrounds.

We had some great waves, great food and the crew were fantastic. I had a cabin to myself and we had lots of fun on the boat. The guys were wonderful to be with and it was certainly a trip to remember, I would highly recommend perfect wave to anyone.
