All on time and well organised, room was quiet and very comfortable with great cooling-fan and AC, hot showers.
Meals very good quality, healthy, and great communal environment. When surfing clashed meals on boat, surf advice and organisation and accommodated all and worked around families also wanting to dive. Surf break knowledge great and worked around weather. Still surfed every day.
The Yoga session after the surf were a godsend to get ready for the next morning surfing.
Overall very friendly staff , very accomodating and a happy place to surf, dive and relax.

Had a great time
Went out surfing once’s sometimes twice in a day and had a Yoga session every day! Also played beachvolleyball with the local staff and went out for a run up the road to explore the surroundings.
Really appreciate Tim (surf guide) and Justine’s (yoga/pilates instructor) efforts to get everyone into cool group activities!

Waidroka Bay resort was sensational for those who Dive and or Surf.
Totally away from everything. The resort on the bay tucked away down a dirt road. 32 guests so quiet with like minded people which was the best. Surf and Dive boats run by local Fijians who are the most chilled and funny people on the planet. A choice of surf breaks plus the bonus of Frigates. Dive sites so many and varied. To dive and surf daily it is a special place. ….And The Beqa lagoon shark dive. Everyone should put this on their bucket list. The coolest thing to do.
Surfing Highlights
J’s
J’s is a hollow, fast wave that breaks from 2’ to 6’. It’s best around the high tide with winds from NE to W. It needs some west in the swell to run down the reef.
Fiji Pipe
This hollow left hand barrel breaks with swell in the 2-6ft range. Short fast and powerful this wave is also offshore in a SE trade wind direction, which is dominant in the winter season March to November.

Shifties
This wave has a deep water take off making the break a ‘not too threatening’ ride. This outside point of the barrier reef picks up all the swell and can be double the size of J’s and Vunaniu. It is powerful and thick. When everywhere else is flat, you can almost guarantee a 4-foot wave at Shifties. It can be surfed at all tides. Again, a wind of the north quadrant is needed.
Frigates
World-class left that can rival Cloudbreak for power, size and consistency. A gradual tapering reef means it can handle all swell sizes. Located offshore, a 45 minute boat trip is required from South Coast resorts.
Black Rock
A right hand barrel which can be tricky at take-off, but can produce the ride of a lifetime. Best around high tide due to the quite shallow coral reef close to take-off zone. Breaks at the entry of a passage which can pick up large swells.
Serua Right
Great long right-hande break. Mellow take off going into hollow inside section. On medium days this is one of the longest rights surfing in Fiji offers. Works almost at all tides. Waves begins to break on outer reef and peels into deeper water.

Waidroka Bay Resort is all about combining the love of ocean adventure with friendly Fijian family vibe. In Fijian Waidroka means fresh spring water, referring to the creek which runs through the rain-forest alongside the resort and straight into the Pacific Ocean. Accommodation
The resort has two main room categories with the Panoramic Ocean-View Rooms being located on a small hilltop overlooking the resort with magnificent views of the Pacific Ocean and our private lagoon. The rooms have a 360 view of the surrounding rainforest and offer a fresh breeze from the Pacific Ocean and surrounding forest. The views are exceptional especially at sunrise and sunset. Then the Ocean Front Bures’, are located in idyllic settings with great views of the Pacific Ocean. Surrounded by stunning rain forest and garden you will be sitting on your own private terrace and enjoying the beautiful views and surroundings. The Deluxe Ocean Front Bures have a large room which can be set up in many different arrangements, offering a variety of choices for either individuals, couples, honeymooners or families, up to a maximum of 4 people. The Superior Ocean Front Bures are located with magnificent views of the Pacific Ocean, with their own little gardens. Diving
Waidroka Bay Resort offers world-class scuba diving with incredible variety: some of Fiji’s finest soft coral and the famous Fiji Shark Dive in the Beqa Lagoon. Fiji has one of the world’s largest coral reefs, over 4,000 sq. miles, making it one of the planet’s most diverse ecosystems. It is home to over 1,500 species of fish and over 400 types of coral. The diving conditions are great year round, with friendly water temperatures and visibility that can easily exceed 100 ft. A must do is the shark dive and is considered one of the best in the world, with the possibility of seeing as many as 8 shark species at one spot. Surfing
Surfing Fiji is world class and there is surf year round at Waidroka Bay Resort’s southern coast benefiting from the pacific ocean’s southern swell patterns. The pacific swells break on the various reef passages only 10-15 minutes boat ride from the resort and present a variety of untouched left & right-hand Fiji Surf Breaks. These reef-breaks can be challenging at about 5 foot plus for more inexperienced surfers, who need to be competent in surfing these type of breaks. Due to the location of Waidroka Bay Resort with very few other Fiji surf resorts around – it benefits from uncrowded waves – don’t spread the word!
