Rebali Riads is a boutique collection of six private beach villas in the village of Sidi Kaouki, south of Essaouira, on the Moroccan Atlantic Coast. A few steps from miles of gorgeous sandy beaches and stunning views over the coast and mountains. You can relax and soak up rural Moroccan life, and Essaouira is an easy drive away with its bustling souks and ramparts.
Located 25 km south from Essaouira, on the road to Agadir. Powerful left and right sandy beach break with long runs, sometimes (but rarely) up to 300m. Needs SW swell and holds up to 8ft
Short and powerful beach break. Best at Southern End of the beach. Works on all NW-SW swell, best on a rising tide.
This is one of the best-kept secrets for people on a Morocco surf camp because Magic Bay is a long right-hander that can break for up to 600m when the conditions align, making it one of the longest waves in Africa. Imagine a mellow Skeleton Bay that has been flipped around, and you’ll get the picture!

Rebali was created with the idea of combining the privacy and space of a villa with the services of a boutique hotel. It was born from the concept that on holiday you want as much space as your private home but without having to lift a finger if you don't want to. On-site are lovely private and shared gardens, a selection of swimming pools, a professionally managed hammam and spa and tennis court. The beach has great surfing and windsurfing and there is door-to-door camel trekking and horse riding.
Food is a an important part of any visit to Morocco and at Rebali you have the services of a full time chef, specialising in traditional Moroccan dishes including the famous tagines salads and cous-cous as well as the fresh fish caught on the doorstep. A great difficulty is deciding where to eat: in the atrium dining rooms, on the patio or even by the pool – the choice is yours. All rates include a simple breakfast and other meals can be chosen each day at extra charge. Alternatively, there are half a dozen cafes and restaurants within a short walk and many more fabulous places to eat in Essaouira. One of most popular experiences are the cooking demonstrations and lessons, where you accompany the chef to the souks to find the freshest ingredients and then help him prepare a fabulous meal for you.
We think Rebali is one of the best places in Morocco for kids. The villa style accommodation is perfect for families and ensures all guests enjoy peace and quiet. There are loads of activities from camel/donkey/horse riding to hunting tortoises and Chameleons. The Chef is great at adapting food to suit youngsters tastes and if the parents want a night out in the village or in Essaouira town babysitting is easily arranged. Cots and high chairs are available at no charge for children aged 2 years and under when they share the parents room.
Build up an appetite with a game of tennis or volleyball in the gardens or make use of one of the pools. For the evenings there are a variety of entertainment from curling up with a film or some arduous star-gazing on the roof terrace. You can also take a quadbike tour over the dunes and along the beach or rent a mountain bike for the day exploring by yourself. The town of Essaouira is just a few kilometres away, also in the area are the famous oil producing Argan trees, often with goats grazing in the branches (yes, IN the branches), a vineyard for sampling wines and having lunch, village farms still following the traditional patterns of life, and animals everywhere: goats and donkeys, tortoises and camels and wait until you see the stars at night. The white dome of the hammam is the predominant design feature in the grounds and there is a good choice of traditional Moroccan and European treatments, and all just a few steps from your villa or room.
There's a beach break all along the beach and a couple of quality reef breaks within walking distance of Rebali. There there's the famous Cap Sim point break 10 minutes away by 4x4 - this is one of Morocco's best waves and you can check the waves peeling down the point from the roof terrace of Rebali. The surfing program is very relaxed. Beginners can take lessons with a local instructor, lessons include boards and wetsuits. You can also rent equipment. Lessons and equipment also available for wind and kitesurfing. No crowds year round! Spring/Summer wetsuit all year round (water around 18-20)
