Fiji will initially offer quarantine-free travel to fully vaccinated travellers from Travel Partner countries. Currently these are Australia, New Zealand, United States of America, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Canada, Qatar, Germany, Spain, France, Republic of Korea, Japan, Singapore, Switzerland and most Pacific Island Countries and Territories.

As part of Matanivusi’s commitment to guest safety, they have implemented a variety of new protocols and elevated practices, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Of course this just part of keeping high standards of cleanliness and commitment to providing excellent service.

The Care Fiji Commitment (CFC) programme, a programme developed by Tourism Fiji to include enhanced standards of safety, health protocols and measures. The Care Fiji Commitment (CFC) is a WHO-approved standard of best-practice health and safety measures for travel in a post-COVID world.

Matanivusi is accredited with CFC, requiring a dedicated Wellness Ambassador, General Manager Tony Karan who is responsible for rolling out these enhanced health and safety measures across the business and keeping everybody safe. The CFC provides the reassurance that all staff whom interact with guests with will be fully vaccinated.

Fiji will reopen as one of the world’s safest tourism destinations. Matanivusi along with nearly every hotel and tour operator in Fiji is following Care Fiji Commitment protocols and Fiji Airways has achieved the highest possible COVID-19 Safety Rating with their Travel Ready program.

An Action Plan has been developed as operating guidelines, including:

– Health monitoring of employees & guests
– Staff training of new processes in specific areas eg food & beverage, housekeeping
– Record keeping of all visitors to Matanivusi for contact tracing
– Established process for handling suspected positive Covid cases

Protocols include:

– Increased frequency of cleaning and disinfection in all public areas
– Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to be worn by all staff
– Every guest room is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected prior to guest arrival
– All staff are double vaccinated
– Hand sanitizers throughout the public areas
– 2 metre social distancing
– Mandatory use Care Fiji App & Vax Check tool
– Testing capabilities for guests
– Food & beverage handlers follow strict hygiene standards

Pre-Departure Checklist

– appropriate COVID-19 related travel insurance is essential
– only fully vaccinated travellers: Astra-Zenaca, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson and Moderna vaccines
– a negative RT PCR Test done 72hours before you board your flight to Fiji (this will be checked)
– Download careFIJI contact tracing app as soon as you land in Fiji, activated wherever you’re travelling in Fiji islands
– Make sure you’re familiar with your country’s requirements for returning home. Selected clinics (Nadi and Suva) will be able to issue a fast and convenient negative RT-PCR test for your return while your hotel can assist you with taking Rapid tests. RT-PCR tests cost approximately $350 FJD per test. Rapid tests cost around $35 FJD. Please factor this into your overall trip costs.

Once at Matanivusi

– Activate careFIJI contact tracing app to check into Matanivusi (QR code at Resort).
– Guests must take a mandatory Rapid COVID-19 test as soon as practical (48 hours). Please factor this into your overall trip cost (approx. FJ$35).
– Wear a mask in public places (e.g. restaurant, office)
– Social distance where possible (2m)
– Wash or sanitise your hands frequently
