Lohis was exactly what we needed. Easy access waves, great vibe with no agro, awesome food and staff, and two good swell pulses while we were there. Surfed twice a day most days.

Sylvia said we would be blown away and she was not wrong. It is a stunning place with amazing service , food and activities. We really could not fault anything and love how the island was eco friendly and they are really doing their bit to look after the reef and turtles. Our teenage boys surfed everyday, great diving and snorkeling too. Also love the no shoes rule!!. Sylvia took the time to find out what we were about and gave such good advice on what would suit our family. So grateful that she got it so right and we will definitely go with perfect wave travel again. Highly recommend six senses it’s a once in a life time experience!!

Sylv worked really hard to get us booked at late notice and her recommendation was spot on. I hate flying but all the connections, transfers and timings made it a comfortable and easy trip. The location, facilities, activities, staff and food were amazing. The overwater villas were stunning and so comfortable. You didn’t need to leave them. The overall experience couldn’t have been any better in my opinion it was heaven. I had a lot of fun surfing and the guys at Tropic Surf were great arranging the daily boat trips to Ying Yangs break. The snorkeling at the house reef off the main buildings and sea grass between the jetties was amazing with so much sea life out the front with a daily show of spinner dolphins going past at breakfast. It was so relaxing and peaceful and being spread out we didn’t see anyone at times.

Also, Sylvia’s product knowledge of the area was outstanding, it definitely made it a lot easier for us to make an informed decision on where to stay. Itinerary wise the stopover in Singapore on the way over to the Maldives was a perfect way to kick off the trip. I can not praise and thank Sylvia Hammond enough! We have travelled a lot and had stopped using travel agents as we had found we did a better job ourselves until my husband contacted Perfect Wave to get advice on a surfing holiday.

Surfing
Generally, the Maldives are exposed to the same swell as Indonesia with surf season being from April to October, peaking in June to September period, the time of South-West monsoon. The Laamu Atoll and Huvadhoo Atoll are separated by the One and a Half Degree Channel. As there is not much land mass to the south of these Atolls, swells generated by the Roaring Forties (a weather phenomena created in the far south of the Indian Ocean) hit the islands of these Atolls, creating the best waves in the country. The Six Senses Laamu house reef frequently offers a couple of quick, rippable lefts which are a short, convenient paddle from the resort beach. Across the channel and within view of the resort, Yin Yangs can deliver one of the most powerful and perfect right-hand barrels in the country.
