12 nights at Aura - everything was perfect
We had quality waves everyday. Great peak straight out the front of your villa and plenty of other reef breaks, beachies and points a short trip from the resort. The food was excellent. The villas were way beyond expectations and the rest of the resort and pool was really well done. Jimmy made sure we were surfing the right spot for the conditions everyday, the photographer Charlie is an absolute pro and the rest of the team were super friendly and helpful. The resort was great for helping organize our surfboards, transport and flights from Medan. Villas spotlessly cleaned each day. WIFI was good. Absolutely everything was just right. Big thanks to the team there for making it an awesome trip. If your looking for your next trip this is it.

Scored some amazing waves and been on some wicked missions. The food and hospitality is out of this world and the crew here are the biggest legends and super knowledgeable. I have scored some barrels and really enjoying myself. I will definitely be back here next year 100%
Great location right on the beach
overlooking a play full a frame. Just a short walking distance to the right or to the left you will find beach breaks which can get really good at the right time. Two thumbs up for food and guiding! I will be back!

Surfing Highlights
The Peak
The Peak is a fun perfect left and right which has both hollow barrel sections and nice walls. An easy paddle out from the beach and a flat reef makes it fun for all.
Dylan’s Right
Dylan’s Right is a hollow fast prefect right barrel which breaks over shallow reef on the inside of a large south west facing bay. Breaks best in larger swells, but produces consistent fun, fast waves.
T-Bags
This wave will have you frothing pretty quickly. The access to this mesmerizing right hander is pretty easy but requires a boat.

Aura offers 6 traditionally constructed spacious private bungalows. All recently renovated and refurbished in 2023, designed with your comfort in mind. Each bungalow receives natural airflow and light with large sliding doors to enjoy the generous balcony space overlooking the waves. Rooms are furnished with 1 premium Queen sized bed, comfy sofa, AC, ceiling fans, bar fridge, coffee table, USB and international power points, board racks and shelves. Bungalows are private 1 guest (or 1 couple) to a bungalow.
Every bungalow at Aura has direct, ocean views to the Peak. Surf checks couldn’t get any easier than from the comfort of your spacious balcony, lounging in the outdoor furniture. The perfect place to start your day with a coffee and finish with an Indian Ocean sunset and some refreshments. Each bungalow contains newly-constructed, spacious free-standing bathrooms with hot water- a rare luxury in this part of the world. Rooms are serviced and cleaned daily. All towels, and sheets are refreshed regularly during your stay.

Whilst Villa guests still enjoy the facilities of the Aura grounds and delicious food served in the restaurant, having your own private beach pad is pretty sweet! The Resort
Aura Surf Resort is situated on the beach close to a very quiet and tiny village. The island of Simeulue has amazing mountains, with waterfalls, rain-forest, rivers, abundant wildlife, beaches, islands, 4wd tracks, fishing and snorkeling. Set amongst 15,000 sqm of beachfront parkland with an epic Peak break right out front & mountainous jungle as your backdrop- your daily surfs couldn’t get any easier than Aura Surf Resort. Aside from serving up delicious buffet meals, our restaurant is the perfect place to relax. Lined with hammocks, indoor and outdoor lounge furniture, dining tables, billiard table, widescreen digital tv, bookshelves loaded with surfing mags, books and board games, it also boasts a prime view of the Peak out front. BBQ deck sits adjacent to the restaurant, the perfect place to unwind after a day of pumping waves.
Surfing
The A-frame Peak offering rippable rights and hollow lefts, is located directly in front of Aura Surf Resort. The most consistent wave on the island. Watch the waves from your bungalow and be in the line up within minutes. There is also a wide variety of waves around the island ranging from hollow reef breaks to playful sand-bottom beach breaks, and everything in between. There are waves to suit all abilities. Aura surf guides are the most knowledgable around and are dedicated to getting you to the best waves possible throughout your trip.
Food
A varied menu of high quality western and Indonesian foods with fresh produce and locally sourced seafoods and meats. First thing in the morning, you will have coffee, tea, cereal, fresh fruit and toast available for your dawn patrol. Hot breakfast will be available from 8am - 10:30am, consisting of items such as banana pancakes, omelettes, nasi goreng, mie goreng, and more. Lunch and dinner is served at 1pm and 7pm, respectively. The dinner menu rotates between a mix of Indonesian specialties such as chicken, fish, meat curries and vegetarian dishes (gadogado, tempe, tofu, rice etc.) and western favourites like pizza, spaghetti bolognaise and BBQ nights. There is unlimited fruit and purified drinking water available.
