Way Jambu or Sumatran Pipeline, as it’s also known, is one of the most perfect waves around – but for experienced riders only.

Further north from Krui – situated in front of an off-shore bommie that breaks up the swells coming from south-west. On its day, when the tides, the banks and the swell line up, it is a top quality, heavy and hollow wave.

a superb right hander, one of the best in the area but needs a bit of swell to start to work. While at Krui, you can also catch a boat to Banana Island.

Jimmy’s Point

Jimmy’s Left – 10 minutes from Drew’s, this world class left hander produces endless barrels.
Jimmy’s Right – A stone’s throw away from Jimmy’s left, but nothing like it if you want heavy sucky barrels.

Further 20 minutes up from Banana Island (Pulau Pisang). It’s a fun right-hand break with a pretty forgiving reef. and is more mellow than the majority of breaks in this region.

A short drive north of Jenny’s. This wave was made popular by the bodyboarders, as it’s a short and hollow left that breaks over reef, close to the beach.

Ombak Indah has 12 twin rooms and triple share rooms and are able to accommodate up to 30 guests can sleep in comfort. All of the rooms have en-suite bathrooms, a comfortable mattress, mosquito nets and fans, a view of the gardens and most rooms have a view of the ocean.

You are served three meals a day as well as hot drinks and water, and meals are served at the large café overlooking the reef and yard.

Sitting astride the equator, Sumatra's climate is about as tropical as tropical gets. Daytime temperatures generally reach 30°C on the coast. The dry season runs from May to September. The timing of the wet season is hard to predict, in the south the rains usually start in November, peaking in January/February. The best time for swell and consistency is May to October, but it is possible to find waves there year round, although the winds can sometimes be detrimental in the off season. Karang Nyimbor is one of the few waves that can handle a south westerly wind no problem.

This area is relatively untouched by tourism. Just walk out from the resort to the local beach, village or coconut plantation and you will experience it. Nature walks: jungle walks along the river, canyons and waterfalls, visit Banana Island (Pulau Pisang) for great views of the mainland. Local Culture: visit local markets, see traditional dancing, watch tapis weaving, visit a local family. Other Activities: snorkelling and swimming, fishing charters, learn to surf, massage.
