Travel Insurance has evolved to cover many Covid related risks.

Over the last couple of years, travel insurers have adapted their cover so many common Covid risks are insurable. Things like the costs if denied boarding, compulsory quarantine if suspected or diagnosed with Coronavirus during travel. Some of the better policies also include coverage for childcare costs and even pet care back home if your travel is disrupted by Coronavirus diagnosis during your trip. Talk to Perfect Wave Travel or your preferred insurer about a policy that works for you.

Do I have to be Vaccinated?

Indonesia no longer requires Covid Vaccination Certification to enter or travel domestically. However depending on where you are headed and where you are returning to, the simple answer is yes, it makes a difference. Vaccination not only reduces your risk of getting really sick from Covid19 – it also opens up travel with few or any restrictions. Unvaccinated travellers may have to be prepared for potential quarantine requirements or restrictions when returning home to some countries.

Australia to Indonesia: Travel Requirements

You don’t need a Covid-19 test to travel to Indo! You can find out more here on the official Australian Government site: Indonesia Travel Updates.

Things are changing quickly as the Indonesian Government eases restrictions and reopens travel.

Visa On Arrival is available at major international airports or you can apply up to 48 hours prior for E Visa On Arrival https://molina.imigrasi.go.id/

To apply for the e-VOA or VOA, you must have an ordinary (non-emergency) passport with at least 6 months of validity from the date you plan to enter (we also recommend having at least 6 months of passport validity from the date you plan to leave Indonesia, to avoid any issues for your departure or onward travel) and a return or onward flight booking to another country.
You may need to apply for a visa in advance to enter Indonesia for purposes not covered by the e-VOA or VOA. Check the latest entry requirements with your travel provider or an Embassy or Consulate of Indonesia before travel. Entry, exit and transit conditions can change at short notice. Monitor media for the latest update.
You’ll be required to complete an e-customs declaration for arrival. You can complete this within 3 days of departure to Indonesia. Travel requirements may change at short notice, including travel to Bali and Jakarta by air, land or sea. Contact your travel provider for up-to-date details.

Travelling out of Australia

The Australian International borders are open to tourists again.  Vaccinated Australian citizens can depart for any reason, now finally including WA.

For more info see Smart Traveller official advice on leaving Australia.

In Transit

Where possible, travellers en route to Indonesia are advised to travel by the most direct flights possible.  The most common transit hubs in Indonesia are; Bali and Jakarta (DPS, Denpasar: Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport) and Java (CGK – Jakarta Airport: Soekarno-Hatta International Airport).

The Bali Provincial Government has introduced a new tourist levy of IDR 150,000 per person to foreign tourists entering Bali. The tourist levy is separate from the e-Visa on Arrival or the Visa on Arrival. Cashless payments can be made online prior to travel or on arrival at designated payment counters at Bali’s airport and seaport.

See the Bali Provincial Government’s official website and FAQs for further information.
