Carpe Vita boat trip
We are from the Gold Coast in QLD and were very lucky to have been thrown together with a great group from Manly in Sydney, from Brisbane and from the central NSW coast. Fourteen in all, a great size for the boat.
When setting of on the surfing trip of a lifetime, you are in the very competent hands of a local captain, (thanks Adam), who has exceptional local knowledge. We were fortunate to have Bob, an Aussie, as one of the surfing guides on our trip as well as Unco, a Maldivian. They ensured that the surfers amongst us got the best waves each day, that they were first out (most days) and were safe. The Carpe Vita has its own dhoni and crew and a dinghy for ease of getting in and out of the surfing areas, and they do an amazing job. Thanks guys!
For those non-surfers in the group, we could snorkel, swim, lay in the sun, watch all the surfing action or read a book. There was as much or as little to do as we wanted. A real holiday!
The meals on the boat were terrific. Chef Chandana and his assistant Akram, created 3 amazing buffets per day, all very fresh and all very different. I don’t know how they do it, but we were sure glad they did! Thanks guys!
Ajantha and Sanjay were our barmen and dinner waiters. They were like ninjas removing and replacing cups, plates and cutlery before you even knew you needed them. They were friendly, happy and became like family by the end of our week. Rofej was our cabin person and he did an amazing job cleaning. turning our bed down and keeping our room on the boat comfortable. Thanks Rofej! Thanks to everyone else, too, who made our week on the Crape Vita exceptional. Thanks Perfect Wave for making the surfing charter possible. We had so much fun, we’ll definitely be back!
Everything about the Carpe Vita and our 7 nights on board was sensational.
It is a ‘huge’, modern, well maintained, (great job Ibbi), comfortable vessel, and we felt safe at all times.
Agnes runs a tight ship and the 13 crew are very efficient at their roles and they do them happily and unobtrusively.

Epic!
My partner and I just came back from a Paradise on Earth called Maldives! One week on the charter boat Carpe Vita and One week at Kandooma Resort. What an experience! You can’t get any better! Carpe Vita is a dream boat charter: extremely comfortable, very tasty food, spa on the top floor, kindly and professional crew. My partner surfed different waves everyday, Cokes, Sultans, Chickens… The surf is great there! Meanwhile I was surrounded by dolphins, going to swim and visiting the islands. After the Carpe Vita trip in North Male we went to Kandooma Resort in South Male… The swell came and my partner surfed 3 different surf breaks, but he was in love for the Kandooma one, just right in front of the rooms! I had so much fun there and could use the Perfect Waves Surf centre to take surf classes with very professional instructors. Perfect Waves just got 2 new customers & we strong recommend their services as the best we have ever had. We are really delighted by the experience! Thank you so much Perfect Waves crew! You guys are legend 🙂
Big thanks to The perfect waves

Activities
Diving facilities (on request – please advise at time of booking) - scuba diving in the Maldives is world-class,. It's one of the best places in the world to spot manta rays and whale sharks; this should be more than enough to convince anyone to travel there, but there is more. Reef sharks including whitetip and grey reef are quite common, together with big tunas, Napoleon fish, eagle and stingrays. Stand up paddle boarding, snorkelling, island visits. Beach BBQ (Central & Southern Atolls only; when weather and surf permits) & Jet Ski use available on all Perfect Wave run charters.
Surfing
Carpe Vita sails the North & South Male Atolls and throughtout the Central Atolls such as Meemu, Thaa and Laamu Atolls. Central offers spots exposed to all directions and for all levels, so there's always a left- or a right-hander well-protected from the predominant SW wind directions.. All spots in the Meemu Atoll are on a coast line facing to the east. All spots are close to each other so that you can change spots within a few minutes! North Male has some of the best Maldivian surf breaks including Chicken’s & Cokes, while in South Male Quarters & Foxys are just two of the world class waves in this magical part of the Indian Ocean.
Captain & Crew
With 13 crew on board to take care of your every need, this is a truly service-inspired charter boat. Captain Adam is one of the best captains in the Maldives with many years experience navigating the best boats through every atoll in the Maldives, so he has your safety covered. He is supported by his 2nd in charge and they have another 2 boat boys & an onboard engineer looking after every element to run a smooth & trouble free surfari. You have 2 chefs dishing up 3 meals per day of a mix of Asian and Western dishes and they are assisted by a fulltime barman and waiter for evening cocktails and a truly fine dining experience. Each day your cabin is turned over by your own room attendant and fresh towels and sheets are just a request away.
Surf Guide
One of the most important parts of any surf charter is your surf guide. Your surf guide on Carpe Vita is employed full-time by TPW Maldives and trained by ISA (International Surf Association) as a Surf instructor and SGA (Surf Guide Association) in safety, rescue, first aid and hospitality. All our hand-selected, well-trained guides have been running surf charters for many years, and are the best and most experienced in the Maldives. With the largest network of surf operations in the Maldives, they know where and when it is good and will put you in the spot. They will also be in daily contact with TPW Regional Operations Manager to ensure you have everything covered for an amazing Maldivian surf experience.
Dhoni - Support Vessel
For recreation you have a separate support craft, called a Dhoni. This vessel is a fully equipped surf & dive craft to take you to surf and dive spots while the mother ship is anchored in a safe vantage point. You have another 3 crew on this boat to look after your every need along with another 15 ft dingy to get nice and close to the breaks. For the divers on board you have two experienced dive masters to do dives in between surfs or even a Padi certified dive course for non surfers.
