What you love
Great little "dingy" ....
8 nights on the Island Safari was a “bucket list” activity that i was keen to undertake with a great group of Crusty old mates …
Central Atolls lived up to It’s reputation, as did the the entire Crew of the Island Safari & the trip was brilliantly put together by Sylvia from TPW travel (this was also combined with a Kandooma stay, following). Thanks heaps Sylv, you legend.
We were spoiled for choice for waves, food & cold beverages and the Island Safari’s layout meant we were comfortable & had plenty of space to chill and relax in between surf sessions.
Our surf guide Mishu, was excellent with a great grasp of the Aussie sense of humour and he put us onto uncrowded waves each day. Cheers Mishu ..
The entire crew were hardworking, from the Captain (who ensured we were in the right place at the right time, and didn’t spend any unnecessary time rocking & rolling), to the cooks, barman cabin crew (that made the onboard experience 1st class) & the boat crews ( ferried us to and fro and kept paddling time down to a minimum)….
I would recommend this boat & team to anybody ..
Thanks Perfect Wave
Maldives as a destination was everything it was hyped to be
Island Safari was great with comfortable cabins , clean well maintained common areas and dining area. The crew were super helpful and friendly with experienced crew on each of the boats. The food was always fresh and tasty with a good variety of dishes ( too good I even gained weight after surfing all day every day 🙂 ).
Our surf guide was great value always communicating with us on our options and movements to get us on the best of conditions for each day. He has spent way to much time with Aussies 🙂 could be an honorary Aussie with his wit and sense of humor , heaps of banter and laughs and good times.
Sylv made the whole logistic exercise so simple and stress free with constant helpful communication that made the whole experience easy. all I had to do was get myself and boards to the airport. Everything else flowed smoothly.
I would highly recommend all involved to anyone looking for an amazing stress free experience,
Thanks again Sylv.
Perfect Wave have been with us all the way through the co-vid lock downs and we finally had the experience of enjoying our long planned trip.
Perfect Wave made the trip memorable by upgrading our charter boat and was well organised from start to finish with communication and updates all the way. We all had a great time on the boat with great waves and conditions. The crew and and surf guide was awesome.

Blue Bowls is the most flexible right, tucked inside the pass and protected from SW-W Winds. More of a point style wave, it has good a length of ride and nice bowly sections for performance moves. All swells, all tides and all sizes.

Tea and coffee is served after all meals. A bunch of bananas ripen on deck and you can eat these as you wish. There is a large flat screen TV and DVD player – a great place to review the days surfing photos with your guide. The lounge also has a great selection of board games and books. Of course, the expert barman and fully stocked bar is always available for drinks – a great selection of cocktails, beers, wines, spirits and mixers is on offer. The upper deck is huge, the open area is perfect for yoga sessions, sun lounging or even after-dark disco. Night fishing is available on request. Snorkeling and Diving Equipment is available for rent.
Surfing South
It is often said that the Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll (also named Huvadhoo Atoll) offers the best conditions of the Maldives. It works best in March, April and September to November. But it picks up more swell than any other Atoll in the Maldives, and from every direction, all season long. The Gaafu Dhaalu area offers the greatest quantity and variety of spots outside of Male Atolls, without the crowds. To almost every island on the outside of the Atoll, you will find one or two breaks. There is everything from barreling and hollow walls to soft and never-ending playful waves.
Surfing Central
Meemu, Dhaalu, Thaa and Laamu Atolls offer spots exposed to all directions and for all levels. All spots in the Meemu Atoll are on a coastline, facing to the east. Inside F1 is the pick of this atoll and is a perfect, fun long right that stretches into the channel. The Thaa Atoll picks up south-west swell and may be even bigger than spots on east facing coastlines of other atolls. This area will be chosen only in very stable weather conditions. Farms and Chambers are the pick in Thaa and the backdrop is jar droppingly beautiful with the islands still uninhabitable. Spots in the Laamu Atoll are spread, from the south facing coastline, along the east facing up to the north-east corner, where waves wrap around. Machines is our pick here and this perfect mechanical right is a barrel machine on its day. We also like to spend an afternoon visiting Six Senses Resort for a cocktail or two when surfing Ying Yangs.
Surf Guide
One of the most important parts of any surf charter is your surf guide.
