Since the recent Australian federal election a lot of political commentators have written a bunch of editorials about the importance of authenticity. Some argue opposition leader Bill Shorten lacked it, whereas most tend to opine new opposition leader Anthony Albanese posseses it in spades!

I sure as hell don’t wish to take political sides and analayze whether the new PM Scott Morrison has authenticity or not, i merely wanted to use the recent political analogy to highlight the importance of authenticity in using a client’s email about his recent Maldives charter as a blog as authentic as!

No marketing spin here, just client Terry Grace’s word for word depiction of his recent Cobia Maldives charter via his email to us upon return, warts and all.

Just getting around to writing to you guys at Perfect Wave Travel now, after a busy return from the Maldives. Firstly thank you for all your help in organizing the trip this year and look forward to returning with you year after year. You and your assistants at Perfect Wave Travel do a great job and make our trip so easy to prepare for so thank you!

Just thought I’d share a few thoughts with you. Firstly we had a fantastic time the best trip to the Maldives yet for so many reasons explained below. Although we did not get “All time” waves we did get some great days and overall it was awesome!!! We experienced the Maldivian culture a number of times on the islands and it was amazing as per usual!!

THE GUIDE

Madey is without doubt the best guide we have dealt with, his knowledge of the area, seas, breaks, weather conditions, swell direction etc second to none. He had a plan each day and explained it to us and we were inevitably the first boat at the break with other boats following his lead. He gave us a tour of his island at our request and invited us to meet his family on a lay day and it was a privelege for us to do so.

He was in constant communication with the captain and us and he couldn’t have been more professional as a guide. Above all else he is a true gentleman and very humble man and went out of his way to ensure everyone of us was happy and looked after. His photography was first rate and when in the surf he helped us get waves and gave advice and shared the stoke with us all. We will be asking for him to be our guide on all future trips.

THE CAPTAIN

Put the boat closest to the break at every break inside other boats which was unbelievable for our viewing! He was on top of the breaks (safely) and it was awesome to be so close. Hice e gave advon fishing, we caught plenty, and was a very funny man! His knowledge of the Maldives water was unbelievable along with the weather. He always had us anchored up safely at night and in a great fishing spot!

The captain always delivered.

THE CREW

Unbelievably friendly couldn’t be any more helpful, retrieving boards, waxing boards for us, on and off the dingy we didn’t have to do a thing, they did everything! Never had to wait in the surf too long for a ride back and dropped us off right in the surf zone unlike the other boats in the area. The cabins were cleaned every day thoroughly, beds made, sheets folded, unbelievable! Always had plentiful stock of beers going from freezer to fridge! All the little things looked after, too many to mention!

THE CHEF

Amazing food! The best food we have had in the Maldives by far! I can’t tell you how tasty it was, massive amounts and the variety was unbelievable! We had a birthday for one of the guys and he cooked a special cake and it was awesome. Geez he looked after us and he was a real character!
