Our Favourite Surf Adventures For 2027
Perfect Wave is constantly searching the globe for the best surfing experiences. This is one of the most fun parts of our business. The good news is that we get to share that experience with our favourite people, surfers and travellers.

So what has grabbed our attention?
For 2027, there is an amazing property in Sri Lanka within reach of both of the island’s surf seasons. In the Maldives there is a world class luxury resort in the heart of the rarely surfed Baa Atoll. A South Pacific alternative is Vanuatu, where trade swells wrap on perfect reefs. In the Mentawai, a rebuilt classic charter boat offers great value group trips and the flexibility of your own program, while in the Philippines Nay Palad Hideaway brings barefoot luxury to Siargao.
Oasis Surf Charter Mentawai, Indonesia
The Oasis is a Mentawai classic, fully renovated and rebuilt in 2024. The management brings many decades of Mentawai charter experience along with a proven captain and crew.
Oasis offers the optimal combination of great value and good size: it is perfect for 10 to 12 surfers, with lots of space to chill and enjoy boat life in the Mentawai. Prices start from US$213 per person per night.
The 88 foot Oasis has 6 spacious, individually air-conditioned guest rooms in double, twin and triple configurations, an air-conditioned lounge with entertainment system, Starlink internet, outdoor areas, board storage and a fast tender.

Soneva Fushi: Baa Atoll, Maldives
The Maldives still holds plenty of surprises for travellers. Baa Atoll has long been overlooked by surfers, but there are waves, good waves! Experienced surf guides take you to uncrowded and secret breaks, all within a 5 to 35 minute speedboat ride, often with no other surfers around.
Even better, the award-winning Soneva Fushi, a pioneer of barefoot luxury since 1995, sets the standard in sustainable luxury, with style and thoughtfulness in every aspect of the resort’s design. Its surf program uses eco-friendly equipment, and nestled in the middle of a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the natural experience is world class. The butler service along with incredible bespoke dining experiences make for unforgettable stays.

Eratap Beach Resort, Vanuatu
Vanuatu is fast gaining a reputation as the adventure destination of the Coral Sea. With active volcanoes, incredible rivers and waterfalls and vibrant and welcoming Melanesian culture, Vanuatu is like a combination of the best of Fiji and PNG: go for the adventure but remember to take a surfboard!

Eratap Resort is the perfect blend of luxury, location and surf. Eratap Island Right can be world class with long barrels and walls, while the more user-friendly left out the front can be surfed on all tides and is offshore in the trade winds. Vanuatu gets its best swells from the SE, from both trade winds and lows east of New Zealand.
The resort sits on a peninsula surrounded by pristine reef. With just 14 villas, Eratap is intimate but offers dining and luxury standards amongst the highest in Vanuatu. Check out the waterfalls, kayaking and wreck diving for a real adventure holiday. Add an extension to Tanna Island and stand on the crater rim of an active volcano!

Nay Palad Hideaway, Philippines
Barefoot luxury meets world class surf on the southeastern tip of Siargao. Nay Palad Hideaway, an ultra-luxury collection of handcrafted villas set between a quiet white sand beach and a vast mangrove forest, pairs warm Filipino hospitality with the freedom to surf and explore. Choose from Garden, Ocean View and Coral Villas or the four-bedroom Perlah Villa with its own private pool, a great option for families and small groups. Stays are all-inclusive, covering gourmet meals, an open bar, daily spa treatments, island hopping, surf coaching and private transfers from Sayak Airport, with packages from US$8,198 per person for 7 nights in a Garden Villa, based on 2 people sharing. Cloud 9, Siargao’s iconic barrelling right, is a short drive away, with the fun peaks of Jacking Horse and Quicksilver close by and boat trips to Rock Island and Stimpy’s.

Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle, Sri Lanka
One of the unique aspects of surfing in the Tangalle area of the Southern Province in Sri Lanka is that it offers a refreshing escape from the crowded surf spots. Unlike some of the more popular destinations, Tangalle is a little further away from the hustle and bustle, allowing surfers to enjoy a more serene and peaceful experience on the waves.
Tangalle also sits on the south coast between Sri Lanka’s two surf seasons. From November to April the west and south coasts are in season, and from May to October the east coast, including Arugam Bay, is the place to be. We can arrange a private driver if you want to combine the two.
Villas at Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle start from US$438 per villa per night, making it a fantastic luxury base for surfers and non-surfers alike.
