Same but different
Sylvi and Janni are a case of “Same but different” – oh so different: Janni was pretty much born on a beach, her mum and dad are surfers who were living in Hawaii, with two older sisters that are successful surfers and stand up paddlers. The Hönscheid family grew up in a house right next to the water and they own a surfshop in the Canary Islands. Sylvi grew up in landlocked Budapest, Hungary. She has only been surfing for four years, yet is fully amped. Sylvi is a frother who will jump out of a plane, loves fast cars and is basically fearless. Sylvi scored her first barrel in Teahupoo before she could even duck dive – go figure! She loves surfing waves like P-Pass in a G-string, but gets claustrophobic in a 3/2 wetsuit in the Canaries and hates beach breaks.
Janni said, “It’s funny how different we are, yet we both love the sport just the same and can definetely learn a lot from each other, and I think with two same, but completely different personalities we will make this trip pretty interesting for everyone, pass on our tips, experiences, and just have a mad, fun week surfing awesome waves all together.”
