What you love
Eratap
Sylv ensured our family holiday to Vanuatu Eratap meet all the needs of everyone in the family.
We were very impressed with Sylvia and Perfect Wave
She asked the right questions about what we were looking for and her suggested destinations and accommodation were spot on. We had some issues with the flights, and she communicated with us really well via email, and she returned our phone calls promptly. Great customer focus.
The Vamoos app was good, we also printed hard copies of our travel documents and took them with us.
Surfing Highlights
Eratap Island – Right
Eratap Island Right can be world class with long barrels and walls. A pulse of SE groundswell and light winds will see it turn on, best at higher tides. The left out front of Eretap Resort is more user friendly and can be surfed on all tides and is offshore in trade winds. Surfers staying at Eratap Resort are usually the only the surfers in the water here.

Select from a wide range of fine Australian, New Zealand and French wines or sample the island cocktails. For a more intimate occasion have dinner by candlelight on your villa deck or your beach side lounge pavilion.
Sustainability
It is rare to find a slice of paradise so untouched yet so close to a major town. The community of Eratap still exist on a largely subsistence level and the natural environment has been protected from the pressures of population growth. By restricting guest numbers, actively employing locals from Eratap, and sourcing materials and produce locally, we have made reasonable progress in practising responsible tourism. Furthermore, their aim is to provide guests with a unique holiday experience that has a limited impact on the natural environment and a positive impact on the surrounding community.
Surfing
Vanuatu, the South Pacific archipelago of 83 small islands, can rival its sister island nations of Fiji and Samoa for wave quality, with half the crowds. Known for its variety and tropical perfection, rather than size, most surfing is on the Southern reefs of Efate Island. Theses reefs create a wave that is easy and fun for surfing. Eratap Beach Resort provides a variety of beginner boards for you to learn on, however it does not have short boards available. There is both a lefthander and a righthander within paddling distance from Eratap. When the waves are good, they are very good, but it is not consistent throughout the year.
Activities
Eratap offers a myriad of exciting activities from the resort itself, giving you something to look forward to each morning when you wake up in your luxury villa. Vanuatu is famed for its coral reefs so it comes as no surprise that one of Eratap’s most popular activities is snorkelling, where you can expect to see beautiful corals, fish and even turtles. Eratap also has kayaks and SUPs at the resort if you are feeling up to a paddle out to sea or through the lagoon and mangroves. There are some wonderful places to explore nearby, even deserted islands! Efate is known for its fishing and Eratap has fishing options aplenty. Guests can fish inshore with their own equipment, go trolling in one of Eratap’s boats with professional equipment or even go big game fishing from Port Vila. Eratap also has bicycles that guests can use free of charge to explore the beautiful island of Efate.
