An hour drive either way from J-Bay reveals dozens of surf spots: reefs, beach breaks and other points. J-Bay
One of the best righthanders on the planet. It works best in July and August when there are usually back-to-back swells with a good period to help combine the seven named sections – providing one of the longest and most flawless righthand points in the world.
Super Tubes
Super Tubes = the best! The waves here can get large (up to about 10-12 feet). This is the ultimate test of your surfing ability. It is very fast, powerful, and very long. As the name suggests, getting tubed is the name of the game. Suitable only for advanced surfers. It’s advised to master Tubes first, another nearby short, perfect hollow wave.
Boneyards
Right next to Super Tubes. You’ll recognize it with ease, as it is the spot where the waves are breaking almost perfectly, but there are only one or two guys sitting out there. Don’t be fooled, this is a locals only break and they take it as a serious offence if you as an outsider decide to surf there. Yeah, it may have the better wave, but that is the bonus of being a local at Jeffrey’s Bay for quite some period of time.
Magna Tubes
Here you’ll find fast powerful and classic waves, as good as anywhere else.
Point
The Point is super enjoyable with cutback sections and everything else you could possibly want from a wave. The waves here tend to be a little smaller than those at Boneyards and Supers. The difference is, that you will have a much longer ride here than at the other two.

Accommodation
The Epic Aloe or Ultimate Aloe packages in the African Perfection guesthouse positioned on the edge of Super Tubes offers you a unique experience with stunning views. All packages include daily surf lessons or day trips and accommodations just five meters from the beach. A typical day in Jeffrey’s Bay starts with an early surfing session before having a delicious breakfast in the a la carte restaurant. Surf the best waves during the day and watch the dolphins use Super Tubes as their playground during the evening. All nine luxurious suites are individually decorated with a distinct and celebrated African sentiment.
Surfing
J-Bay works best on a south or southwest swell. From March thru October swells often produce clean waves in the 3-6+ ft range (up to about 10–12 ft). Winters are cold, you will need a 3mm+ suit to enjoy the waves. J-Bay itself consists of five separate sections and on bigger days with the right swell direction some of these sections can be connected. There is a perfect section along this point for every level of surfer including: Kitchen Windows, Magna Tubes, Boneyards, Super Tubes, Salad Bowls, Tubes, Points & Albatross, each possessing its own magic. The hardest decision each morning is which section of the point to surf.
African Safari
There are several safari's to choose from. Lombardini Game Farm is situated in the Seekoei River Valley just outside Jeffrey’s Bay, only a few minutes away. More than 20 different kinds of African species are preserved in this reservation, including the White Rhino, Giraffe, Buffalo, Fish Eagles, different species of Antelope. Addo Elephant Park ecosystem is sanctuary to over 450 elephants, Cape buffalo, black rhino, a variety of antelope species, as well as the unique flightless dung beetle, found almost exclusively in Addo.
Lion Park
Several years ago the white lion was very close to extinction. To give this species a change for survival, the park started a breeding program, the aim to create a second gene pool to breed healthy white lions and to conserve this rare species. This means encouraging the breeding, raising the cubs to strong and healthy lions and setting them free into nature. Apart from its primary role as a game-viewing and lion-breeding facility, the Lion Park is also a renowned sanctuary which successfully treats and rehabilitates many sick or injured animals. Upon visting the Lion Park you'll receive the opportunity to witness feeding time and possibly pet the little lion cubs.

The Bloukrans Bridge is the world's highest and largest single span commercial concrete arch bridge and home to the world's highest Bungy Jump from a bridge where you can enjoy a smooth bungee with specialist equipment and technology.
