Ayada Resort was such a beautiful resort, definitely high end and in our eyes a 7 star resort with impeccable service with our own butler, pool and only meters from our own private beach (much better location and more private than the overwater villas). We really did feel like the only guests on the island.
Love Charms surf break is only 5 mins speedboat ride away and we scored 4-5ft lefthanders with only 4 of us surfing. Tiger Stripes is a 30 min speedboat ride away and had a few safari boats that visited but no more that 15 people in the water at one time.
I only surfed the 3 days but I have memories that will last a lifetime.
We would definitely recommend The Perfect wave to anyone who wanted to travel to the Maldives.

Five Islands
Only 5 minutes from the resort, Five Islands is a barreling righthander that breaks hard and hollow on the shallow reef inside. The outside section encourages deep takeoffs into racy walls and handles the biggest swells at all tides.
Love Charms
Also only 5 minutes speedboat from the Resort, thsi wave has a series of reliable lefts, which can handle E winds and any size of swell. With a solid SW groundswell Love Charms can break like a Maldivian Cloudbreak.

Tiger Stripes
Named after the light coloured grooves in the reef that give a striped effect, Tigers is a real growling left in a strong swell. Tricky take offs into a long speedy wall before committing to an inside tube section that wraps and peters out in the channel. Unimpressive when small, it always seems to be bigger than everywhere else. All tides, all variations of S Swells and any N Wind.

Designed for beginners and novice surfers who can paddle and catch waves independently and want to experience a reef break safely.
The surf team plans one beginner-friendly excursion per day, usually around high tide to create the best conditions for learning on gentle reef waves.
Surfers will be guided by an experienced surf instructor to a suitable break based on ability and conditions.
All classes include surfboard rental and are taught by an experienced instructor.

If you plan to bring a surfboard bag, please inform Perfect Wave at the time of booking—or no later than 2 months before travel—with the number of boards and their exact dimensions. This information is required to coordinate with ground staff and the domestic airlines.
Due to weight restrictions on Maldivian domestic flights, we cannot guarantee that your surfboard bag will travel on the same flight. If it arrives later, this will be entirely due to airline limitations.

The Resort

Ocean Breeze is an overwater restaurant & bar named after its beautiful over-water location where the warmth of the sun is tempered by a refreshing breeze, this stylish restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and offers gourmets a tempting menu of modern European dishes. With regular seasonal changes to the menu, items such as grilled seafood, home-made pasta and fine steaks are perennial favorites. Ayada Maldives provides a fully equipped Kid's Club, Zuzuu. Open from 09.00 AM to 06.00 PM and inviting all children, this facility offers a host of recreational and educational activities conducted by a personable and attentive team. The Kids Club area is complete with its own pool, nanny room, a stage and playground area with a jungle gym. All activities and services are offered complimentary unless specified. Baby sitting service is available on request. Fun and innovative activities are on offer including supervised snorkeling and swimming lessons, cooking classes, t-shirt painting, face painting, and an educational insight into the flora, fauna and marine life that is so unique to the Maldives.
Activities
Excursions: Enjoy fishing at sunset, glass-bottom boat tour, dolphin cruise, deserted island picnic or a local island safari & visit. Watersports: Surfing, windsurfing, jetski, fun tube, wakeboarding or snorkelling are available at the resort. Scuba diving: You can either learn to scuba dive, or, if you are already certified, you can go for a fun dive in one of the most stunning locations on the planet. The area is one of the best places in the world to spot manta rays and whale sharks; this should be more than enough to convince anyone to travel there, but there is more. Reef sharks including whitetip and grey reef are quite common, together with big tunas, Napoleon fish, eagle and stingrays.
The Waves
It is said that the Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll (also named Huvadhoo Atoll) offers some of the best conditions for surfing in the Maldives. It works best in February to April and September to November. It picks up more swell than any other Atoll in the Maldives and from every direction. The Gaafu Dhaalu offers the greatest quantity and variety of spots. To almost every island on the outside of the atoll you will find one or two breaks. There is everything from barreling and hollow walls to soft and never ending playful waves.
Surf Program
It is cheaper to pre-book your surfing than paying after arrival.
You have the opportunity to transfer to one of the following Surf Breaks – 5 Islands, Love Charms, Tiger Stripes, Antiques, Blue Bowls or Two Ways. The specific break will be selected by experienced Surf Guides based on prevailing weather conditions. (*maximum 2hrs in the water). One trip per day to one of the farther surf breaks (Beacons or Castaway - 35mins away) minimum of 4 Surfers. (*maximum 2hrs in the water) (*In the event there are less than 4 surfers – Beacons or Castaway is available for a maximum 3 hrs in the water and the equivalent of 1 day ultimate pass). Guaranteed minimum 4 scheduled trips daily, with the timing and chosen break to be decided by the Surf guides based on prevailing weather conditions.
