Well, I don’t know about you, but every year seems to go quicker and quicker. I don’t know if that’s because I manage to squeeze more into a year or I’m just getting older, but time just ticks away faster. That said, I always ensure that I attack each and every day with as much energy and enthusiasm as possible to help my team live and breathe our mission and I hope you have benefited from that in some way, shape or form this year.

I moved back to Sydney HQ from Indonesia in September 2017 after an amazing two years living my dream in Bali with my family, whilst at the same time growing our Indonesian operations and driving A Perfect Foundation in the Mentawai. I’m back at HQ to ensure that as we continue to grow as a business, we never lose focus of what it is we exist to do- serve you our clients, our partners and make the world a better place.

What a surf season we had this year! There was more swell than I have seen in many years pumping through the Indian and Pacific oceans, it felt like it was non-stop. Brian James our partner in the Maldives, a 15 year veteran of the region, believed it was one of the best he has ever seen, especially at Cokes Surf Camp.

In Indonesia, we really scored, the swells were relentless back to back all year throughout all of the archipelago. In Bali it was pumping all year and our guides at S Resort Bali were working hard to get all our guests into the best of it.

The Mentawai season was also memorable, many of our long time salty seadog partners in the region were quoting ‘17 was one of the best seasons for years. I was fortunate enough to visit the Mentawai a few times this year as we have been busy with A Perfect Foundation, increasing our efforts to establish the first waste management and recycling program in the region.

We live to put together and create surf experiences that not only give you the best waves on the planet, but also give you the time to stop and reflect on how lucky we are, not only as surfers, but as humans, travelling this amazing planet we call home.

2017 was our 11th year of creating trips of a lifetime and connecting people with their passions. And as it has been the case every year since we started, it got bigger again. In early September 2017 we delivered our biggest, “Surf Music in Paradise” event at Kandooma in the Maldives with Jimmy Barnes, Diesel and The Barnes Family Band. The gigs and vibes were next level amazing and so good that we decided to do it all again in 2018 for those that missed the sold out event or wanted to do it all over again.
