Located on the Atlantic east side - or east coast of Barbados. Family owned and operated. The Atlantis Hotel is like staying in someones oversized, very comfortable beach house.  It has recently been completely refurbished but is actually an elegant historic property dating back to the 1800's.

The atmosphere at The Atlantis is uncomplicated yet stylish with its colonial furniture, vivid fishing boat colours and modern amenities.  It's an off-the-beaten-track hideaway with stunning views both up and down a deserted lovely beach. The Atlantis Hotel provides that much needed quiet retreat option without compromising on luxury.

The Atlantis has gathered a strong local following over the years for its famous Barbadian buffets served on Wednesdays and Sundays. Their chefs take pride in creating menus using only fresh local produce, seafoods and meats.

Accommodation

Completed in December 2009, The Atlantis Hotel now offers eight spacious rooms in the main building and two two-bedroom apartments next to the pool.

The choice of accommodation is 1 bedroom, 1 bedroom ocean front view, 1 bedroom suite with ocean view, 2 bedroom ocean front self contained upper suite or 2 bedroom ocean front self contained lower suite.

Surf & Other Activities

Surfing:

Soup Bowls:
Soup Bowls' is the islands most famous surf spot. It almost always has at least head-high surf and although it is often onshore, it is a powerful, hollow wave. With a couple of different take-off spots the crowds are fairly spreat out, but the first peak is quite tight and gets busy. Respect the locals, who surf extremely well, and be careful of the rocks and urchins.

Tent Bay:
Is a powerful left, gets epic on a straight N swell, while Ragged Point, a fun yet strong beachbreak, best surfed from mid to high tide.

Beaches & Good Spots to visit:

Bath:
Bath is a beautiful uncommercialised beach well protected from the Atlantic breakers by a coral reef. Excellent venue for picnics, you'll probably be the only ones on the beach.

Bathsheba:
Bathsheba used to be the summer resort for the Barbadian upper crust who would take their afternoon drinks in the rock pools. Later it became a surfing hotspot and hangout for the hippy jet set.

Orchid World:
In the middle of sugar cane fields, Orchid World appears surprisingly around the corner. Overlooking St. George valley the garden displays an extraordinary wide array of orchids, a must for the horticulturalist.

Welchman Hall Gully:
Gullies are sunken riverbeds, which carry the original tropical vegetation of Barbados. In Welchman Hall Gully human hands helped a little to create a most beautiful park leading through the valley.
