Jon Nobi has a simple English translation “relaxed and comfortable” and that is exactly what all of the guests to Jon Nobi experience. The Jon Nobi is located close to the main Nagasaka gondola ensuring its guests not only have comfortable accommodation but they also have convenient access to the ski fields. The Jon Nobi is one of the most sought after hotels in the Nozawa Onsen and allows gests to experience the exquisite Japanese architecture of the recently refurbished hotel.

The Jon Nobi has 16 rooms for guests to choose from all featuring traditional Japanese architecture and design. The lay out of the Jon Nobi in itself provides guests with a true Japanese cultural experience. While all rooms contain their own ensuite, guests are also permitted to use the hotels own Japanese bath houses which are segregated for male and female guests.

The Jon Nobi is also home to one of the most famous restaurants and bars in the Nozawa Onsen. “Himatsuri” was designed by the hotel owners to reflect inspired by Nozawa Onsen’s famous fire festival which is held every year in January. With traditional Japanese meals on offer and locally produced sake guests are sure to enjoy the festivities on offer in the restaurant. The restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner and guests can pay an additional fee to have their meals included in their accommodation costs.

Jon Nobi is located 287 kilometres from Tokyo and guests are able to travel to the hotel wither by train or bus. Most guests utilise the train service as it provides a scenic route through some of the most idyllic country side that Japan has to offer. Jon Nobi offers guests free transfers from the train and bus station directly to the hotel.

The Jon Nobi provides guests with 16 rooms and 3 room styles to choose from. Guests have the following room options to choose from:

Deluxe Room

Japanese Rooms

Standard Japanese Room

  • Traditional tatami floor with a futon;

  • Private ensuite bathroom with either a toilet and shower or just a toilet; and

  • Free wi-fi.



Dining:

Jon Nobi has its own restaurant providing daily breakfast and dinner to all of its guests. The restaurant is traditionally Japanese themed and allows guests to enjoy locally farmed and produced foods. For guests who would prefer to eat in the village there are a number of restaurants providing a wide variety of western and Japanese cuisines.

Many guests enjoy eating from the traditional Japanese food carts that are found on the village streets. For guests staying in the deluxe rooms they also have the opportunity to cook their own meals and purchase fresh foods from the local village grocer.

Surf & Other Activities

Skiing

Unlike other skiing locations in Japan, Nozawa Onsen is only made up of one ski resort. The resort provides guests with over 300 hectares of terrain and 50 kilometres of ski slopes. With a breathtaking 1085 metre vertical drop Nozawa Onsen is a popular skiing destination for skiers from all over the world. There is an equal distribution of ski runs to ensure there is an appropriate run for beginners through to the most advanced skiers.

Guided Snow Monkey Tour

Nozawa Onsen is famous for its Macaque Monkeys, locally called Snow Monkeys. Guests can enjoy guided tours that will take you to Jigokudani which translated into English means “Hell’s Valley”. Here guests will be able to come face to face with the local Snow Monkeys relaxing in natural hot spring water baths and playing on rock cliffs and branches. The Snow Monkeys are friendly and are not afraid of human interaction.

Onsens

Nozawa Onsen basis its tourism efforts on its natural hot springs. Nozawa Onsen is one of the best locations in Japan for natural springs and tourists from all over the world travel here to take advantage of the therapeutic benefits the mineral rich hot springs. There are over 30 natural hot springs within Nozawa Onsen for tourists to indulge in.
