The Gasthof Schi Heil is a no nonsense accommodation option in the heart of the ski village of Nozawa-Onsen, Japan. The ski areas are just minutes away, as the hotel has a great location in the center of the historic town. The bus terminal is just 50 meters away. Hot springs are nearby, and there’s plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants in the area. Each room is fairly spacious by Japanese standards, and come with bar fridges and kettles.

If you’re looking for affordable, comfortable and clean accommodation perfect for winter sportspeople, the Gasthof Schi Heil is it. Located near the center of Japan’s ski village of Nozawa-Onsen, the hotel is just eight minutes away from the moving walkway to the nearest ski slopes. There’s also a hot spring just a few minutes away, and the area around the hotel has plenty of restaurants, bars, cafes and shops. In other words, pretty much everything you need is at your fingertips.

The hotel itself features seven straight forward rooms with a reasonable amount of space, small fridges and kettles with free tea. Wifi is available in some rooms. Downstairs, there’s a pleasant cafe, and a drying room is also available on site.

The owners are happy to help visitors with information around the area. They can sell discount ski tickets, and can arrange snow monkey tours.

Surf & Other Activities

Nozawa-Onsen is one of Japan’s most popular ski villages, with long seasons and great powder. It’s also an excellent place to check out Japan’s famous snow monkeys. Along with skiing, Nozawa-Onsen is also quite popular due to its natural hot springs, known locally as onsen. The waters supposedly have a range of health benefits, and undoubtedly make a great way to relax after a day of skiing.
