Getting uncrowded , quality waves straight out front, and living like royalty without breaking the bank is awesome!

Here’s 10 reasons why I recommend travelling to Kandooma in 2020

1. Easy Journey

Same day arrival! Kandooma and the Maldives in general is quite easy to get too. For me, I left Sydney at 10.00AM and arrived at Kandooma at 11.00pm that night. I flew Singapore Airlines, it took around 9 hours to Singapore, then I had a short stopover in Singapore before a 4 hour flight to Male (Maldives capital ) and a short 40 min fast ferry ride out to Kandooma.

2. The Surf’s Literally On Your Doorstep

After a comfortable sleep in my beachside Villa, when I awoke the next morning I was stoked to see that it was literally a 30 second walk to check the surf. Kandooma Right must offer one of, if not the closest accommodation to take off point in the world. I seriously challenge anyone to find a closer room to the take-off zone anywhere. The take-off spot is seriously 30 metres from the closest room.

3. It’s Uncrowded & There’s Waves To Suit Everyone!

Kandooma Right is one of the best waves in the Maldives. The wave itself suits intermediate surfers, but at the same time still challenges really good surfers looking for a tube ride. Kandooma has a strict limit on the number of surfers accommodated on the island that can surf. The Perfect Wave run the exclusive surf programme. The maximum number of surfers is 50 – which guarantees un-crowded waves. There are also 3 x dhonis that regularly travel to a variety of nearby waves in South Male. There are a bunch fun reef set ups nearby, ensuring you can be surfing different waves when you want. There’s Foxy’s a hollow left, Riptides a super fun, workable right, Tucky Joes a quality left and Quarters another fun Right.

4. The Resort Rules

From the luxurious villas to the idyllic spa, Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives offers outstanding service and facilities, receiving consistently high reviews from our valued customers. A range of accomodation is all built around the edge of or on the water. Each villa type is fresh and contemporary in appearance, with stylish beachy decor, whitewashed timber floors, state of the art beds and your choice of pillows (hard or soft), fresh oranges with orange press and quality tea and coffee neatly compliment any occasion.

5. Culinary Journey

Enjoy a culinary journey at Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives! Eating and drinking experiences offer everything from sumptuous buffets served at the Cafe for breakfast, lunch and dinner; to the classy ͚a la carte͛ restaurant – ‘The Kitchen’ – offering fine beachfront dining. And finally, my tick of approval!

The first time i travelled to Kandooma I was really blown away by how efficient all the staff are. On arriving at the island too, you will be impressed by the location, scenery, overall set-up and presentation. Just go to go, Kandooma is a perfect first time or indeed regular Maldives experience! Crowds have never been a factor for me, and i’ve been 4 times now. There’s never been more than 6 to 10 guys in the line up at any given point in time. Most earlies and lates i have found myself surfing all by myself or with 2 or 3 others.
