This was our second visit to Castaway and again we had a great time. It has beautiful beaches, great snorkelling and nice pools and the bures are of high standard with beautiful interior. We spent our days kayaking, sailing, snorkelling in the crystal clear water and playing on the beach with our kids. It is great having two beaches and if it is windy on one side you go to the other. We prefer south beach as there is hardly a sole there and it always has a nice breeze. My husband spent a few days going surfing out to Cloudbreak which was great if you have a husband that likes to go on holidays with his surfboard! The snorkelling is fantastic, particularly off north beach, we saw every kind of fish (even a nemo which can be hard to spot) and lots of colourful coral. If you have young kids like us you can kayak out to where the good snorkelling is, our younger 2 sat on the kayak while we snorkelled with our older son. This resort is great for children, our kids 7,4 and 2 loved it. They did not use the kids club so I cannot comment on it. My 7 year old cried as we left our bure, he must have loved it!The food is pretty good at Castaway, most of our meals were great especially at 1808 restaurant. The service is outstanding at 1808, I feel they need to implement this in the main restaurant also. That would be my only complaint, waiting 20 minutes for your drink at Watersedge restaurant can be testing with kids! Most of the staff are very friendly, the band boys particularly engaged with our kids at dinner and a special mention goes to Aku from the boatshed, he was great with our kids on the banana boat and the inner reef snorkel.Castaway is not cheap, but it is worth it in our opinion, especially for a family of five which very few hotels accommodate in one room.Overall, we love it and can't wait to come back again and I would highly recommend this beautiful island paradise.
