Olas Peru Surf Travel is part of Olas Peru Surf School, the leading surf school in Latin America which has been operating since 1992. The surf guides that will take you on your surf trip are also qualified surf instructors so they will also give you some tips on your technique!

These guides have comprehensive knowledge of where you will get the best waves at any particular time - based on weather, tides, swell and forecasted predictions based on previous years. They have all been surfing the Peruvian coast and other areas of Latin America for many years, and are also trained in first aid for your safety.

Olas Peru runs a number of surf tours all year round with no minimum numbers required.

Chicama Dreams – 8 days/7nights

This trip takes you through the Central Peruvian coast and will have you surfing the world’s longest left – the famous, Chicama, which gets to about 2kms long! You will visit other empty surf breaks in this area and experience the land of the Mochicas, the first surfers on earth, and discover their ancient settlements.

Mancora Peru Surf Classic – 8 days/7 nights

This trip travels up to the north, to a popular surf area called Mancora. Here you will find warmer waters and plenty of barrels. There are approximately 15 different surf spots you can visit in the area, most of them only a few kms from Mancora

Lonely barrels – 14 days/13 nights

This trip will combine the 2 above, taking you around both the central and northern coasts, from the long, lonely lefts of Chicama, to the tropically warm waters of famous Mancora. With Lonely Barrels you stop at more beaches at the beginning and take more time to get up to the north (two days at Huanchaco and just one day at Chicama and Pacasmayo) and stay more days in Mancora.

Stayin' Stoked - 14 days/13 nights

Stayin’ Stoked is similar to Lonely Barrels but you go straight to Huanchaco and then stay more days at Chicama, Pacasmayo and Mancora, and come back stopping on the way for a little bit longer at Pacasmayo

Surf’n Style – 8 days/7 nights

This trip uses internal flights instead of 4wd transport so you can get around faster and surf different spots, you stay in upgraded hotels

Surf’n Machu Picchu

Match a 5 day/4 night Machu Picchu trip with the surf tour of your choice. You choose between the Sacred Valley & Machu Picchu tour or for the more adventurous do the Inca Trail Trek to Machu Picchu.

Surf’n Volunteer

Why not help out the locals and give something back to the surf community? This trip combines a 7 day 4WD surf trip up the north coast with a 14 day surf camp, surfing the perfection of Lobitos and helping “Waves for Development” improve the lives of the youth in this remote desert community. They have been donated 400 surfboards by Global Surf Industries and you will help with education and surf coaching programs.

Accommodation
Accommodation will be in comfortable beach hotels or hostels.  If you choose the Inca trail trek you will be camping for this portion of the trip.
Surf & Other Activities

In the summer (Dec to Apr) the surf averages 2 to 5 foot with some days easily reaching 10 foot; in the winter (May to November) you generally get 4 to 8 foot with days at 10 foot very common.

In the North Coast, Talara & Mancora, you will find tropical water and year round sunny weather. Their point breaks offer fast, hollow tubes. Most known is El Hueco, Cabo Blanco, Lobitos, Organos, Mancora & Bayovar, all lefts - many of which are world class.

Other activities include deep sea fishing for Tuna and Marlin and spear diving.

The Central Coast is made up of Centinela, Huanchaco, Chicama and Pacasmayo. Again nearly all waves are left and most of them are long. Most known is Centinela, Bermejos, Playa Grande, Huanchaco, Chicama (longest left in the world!), Pacasmayo, Peomape & El Golf. Again many of these are world class.
