Quick Facts
    •  Indigenous Javanese homes
    • Yoga classes
    • Surfing opportunities

Pondok Pitaya is the place to stay for anyone who wants to see a side of Indonesia you won’t find in the tourist bars of Bali. This is a place for peace and tranquillity, for seeing the real Bali. It’s a place that’s as much for getting in touch with yourself as it is for experiencing authentic Balinese life. Located 90km from Seminyak, Pondok Pitaya can be found right on the edge of a beautiful volcanic beach, with year-round surf and some of the best sunsets anywhere in Indonesia. Get up early for a sunrise yoga class, before hitting the waves. In the afternoons, you’ll have a pretty tough choice: explore the mountains behind you, or kick back on the beach with a cold one. It’s the hardest choice you’ll make during your stay, with the great staff of Pondok Pitaya treating guests like family, looking after your needs without making you feel like a stranger. Sample their great Indonesian cuisine while staying in an almost-century-old Javanese home. At night, don’t forget to head down to the beach for the mind-blowing star gazing.

Along with surfing and yoga, other available activities include hiking, coffee tours, fishing and other water sports. Accommodation is suitable for everyone from singles to couples and small groups. They also cater for special events.

Accommodation

All of Pondok Pitaya’s accommodation options feature classic Indonesian architecture. Most of the buildings are refurnished indigenous Javanese homes, many of which date back to the 1930s. Surf & Other Activities

With Bali increasingly becoming one of the best destinations in the region for yoga, Pondok Pitaya combines yoga with Indonesia’s beloved surf. Located right on the beach, Pondok Pitaya offers year-round surf, along with opportunities like other watersports. The surrounding area is also known for its high quality coffee, and farm tours are available. Further inland, the mountainous terrain is a hiker’s paradise, with enough trails to keep the avid explorer occupied for months. Along with organizing outings, Pondok Pitaya also offers yoga/surf packages, including all-inclusive options.

The Perfect Wave runs a Surf Center at the resort. We employ a resident  surf guide and yoga instructor, and they run a team of local surf guides and surf instructors.

All Perfect Wave surf guides are certified and have vast local knowledge. They will take you to the spots that best suit your surf level as well as the wind/tide conditions on any given day.
