If you want to get out there an experience more of the waves in the area the surf guides will take you to Yoyo’s (approximately 10 min drive), Super Suck, Big Brother, Scar Reef, Little Bingin, Donuts and a couple of local secret spots.

Surf & Other Activities
In front of the resort's Restaurant, they have Tropical Left, a long rippable point break with waves breaking lonely day after day. There is also a right-hand point on the other side of the channel. Fast at the takeoff and then breaks slowly into deep water channel. Perfect for beginners to sit wide on the shoulder.
To score other breaks, the surf guides will take you by 4x4 to Yoyos or other local waves like Super Suck, Big Brother, Scar Reef, Little Bingin, Donuts, and a few other secret spots... Yoyos picks up a lot of swell. It’s a fun righthander, good for all levels. Super Suck needs a bit more swell than other waves to break. Very good, extremely long rides but be careful on the low tide. Scar Reef is a good left-hander. There is another smaller wave right next to it called Little Bingin.
This part of Sumbawa gets good surf 12 months per year. The months from June to August get the biggest swells and are perfect for SuperSuck and Scar Reef blowing offshore winds all day long. The in-between seasons of Sep-Nov and March-May can be the best for our front-yard Tropical Left and Right, with glassy conditions every morning and only light winds some afternoons. Christmas, January and February can also be decent.
Other activities are available for the non-surfers or if you just want a break. There is a professional gym with instructor, beauty massage therapies, cooking classes, babysitters, full day boat trip excursions with fishing, spear fishing, and snorkelling gear, internet and loads of other activities to keep you busy.
All-Day Boat Excursion

ARRIVAL and DEPARTURE:
Option A - Flight and Speedboat (included in package price)
The Garuda flight usually leaves Bali on Sunday morning at 11:25 am, and it's a 35 minute flight to Lombok. You need to be at the Domestic Terminal of Denpasar Airport at least one hour before departure. A driver will be waiting for you at Arrivals of Lombok Airport and will drive you in a comfortable minibus with AC to the port where the private speedboat will take you to Sumbawa. This is not a regular public ferry, it's a private fast boat. This fast boat will leave to West Sumbawa at about 16:45 and arrives at around 6pm. The port in Sumbawa is only a 30-minute drive to the Resort.
THE WAY BACK: On the way back you will leave Sumbawa in the morning (7 am) and you will fly back from Lombok to Bali at about 13.05pm.
ARRIVAL and DEPARTURE dates: When travelling to Tropical Beach Resort, you may require a night before and after in Bali to ensure you connections work. Your consultant will advise you about this, and will have recommend hotels close to the airport for you to choose from.
Option B - Seaplane
If they have 6 guests per week, the easiest. quickest and most comfortable way to get from Bali to the resort is by seaplane which only takes 45 minutes. It can take maximum 6 passengers plus surfboards. The Seaplane Bali to Resort and back would cost US$5,000 per group of 6. This is US$900. If they get 6 people on the week before you, and then another 6 on the week after you, then the price would be only US$450 per person return.

Just back from an amazing trip to Nomads Sumbawa. Travelling with a long time surf travel mate we were so keen for the trip & weren't disappointed at all with all the Nomads had to offer. Resort, food, staff were all first class & a pleasure to experience.
Great surf guides, particularly the local knowledge made sure we got to the right spots.
Location of the resort was fantastic, set amongst beautiful Sumbawa landscapes, I cannot wait to get back.
Cheers to all the staff at Nomads Tropical's & Charlie at PW.
Currently planning my next trip, of r two as we speak!
Keri (September 2014)
Nomad Keramas (Bali) and Nomad Tropical (West Sumbawa) were both fabulous resorts and exceeded my expectations as both were nothing like the surf camps I was imagining. The rooms were beautifully appointed, clean and well air-conditioned, staff were friendly and helpful, and the food amazing. Kim, from Perfect Wave, arranged everything for us, and all our transfers, flights and other arrangements flowed like clock work. Kim was always available to answer our questions, even when we were in Bali.
Sam (September 2014)
Everything went perfectly, from flights to transfers and accommodation it all was as planned. Would recommend to anyone planning a surfing trip.
The trip to Tropical Beach Resort was fantastic and Perfect Wave came through with arrangements with transport, accommodation making the trip run without a hitch.

Travelling with The Perfect Wave was so easy, from the planning/ booking stage right through to our return, every aspect was covered. The Perfect Wave kept us informed constantly right from the get go. Flights, transfers and accommodation all worked in seamlessly. We had a fantastic time at Nomads, the staff couldn't have done any more for us and the food was excellent. They had all the surf spots covered and it was no trouble to take us wherever we felt like going. The only thing we needed worry about was catching waves, which we had plenty of. Many thanks to Sylvia and the crew at The Perfect Wave for an amazing experience.

It was my first surf trip out of Oz so I trusted your advice and pics on the website. The Nomad resort Sumbawa was all time, perfect little resort and very well staffed. The all inclusive meals was a massive bonus and great to know you could eat well at anytime of the day at no extra cost... I think that all up it was great value with the drivers everyday always willing to take us to where the waves were, and had good local knowledge of tides and timing! Plus they put lime juice on your reef cuts...very caring! Having individual fruit packs and cold water on the beach after a surf was luxury. Can't wait to go back there to be honest...good job Perfect Wave!

Nomads on Sumbawa... utterly amazing. We weren't quite prepared for the luxury there, and even though we'd looked at the photos we didn't really appreciate the position and scenery either. What a place! Accom, food, staff, outlook... it was all just perfect. Within a day or two we were trying to work out how we could come back soon. They have the world's best babysitter there, Siska, and we discovered her services were included along with everything else. Despite the fact we want to keep it a secret, we won't be able to stop ourselves recommending this resort to our friends. We were exceptionally lucky in that there was only one other family there for our entire stay (which meant the kids got the most amazing attention from all the staff), and also in that a pretty solid swell hit, so I was able to surf a remote spot with just my surf guide out with me. The 1 1/2 hour trip was worth the fantastic speedy right hander that broke in an empty untouched bay, with literally no one else around. Epic!

Nomads Sumbawa was an amazing experience and well worth the effort to get there. The food was absolutely World Class and to date the best resort food I've had. The quality, the variety, the flavours and just being able to order what you want, when you want and as much as you want. The Perfect choice after surfing for 4 to 6 hours straight. The wave choice in the area is excellent. The left out the front is such a fun and workable wave, brilliant. YoYo's is an insanely good wave when it turns on. There are other breaks in the area that require big swell and look amazing but we didn't get the opportunity to try these.Transport from Bali to Sumbawa and back again is a real mission but it is worth the trek.

Nomads, what can I say! This place is sik...one of the best surf resorts I've been too ever! With a hop skip and a jump from Bali you are surfing by early afternoon at the left or right directly in front of the resort.Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all superb! And I am extremely surprised how a small remote resort can get such quality food.Resort staff are all super friendly and will whip you up a chocolate iced coffee in no time (this is my personal recommendation). Surf Guide Aaron and resort manager Anthony are awesome, local knowledge is superb and they got us into perfect Supersucks and scary Scar reef 5 days straight! other great waves include Yoyos and Little Bingin! We played golf when the surf was flat or chilled around the resort and after a couple of days the thought of home is a distant memory! I will definitely be back next year with more mates and potentially girlfriends...

Shane and Astin
Hi Charlie Astin and I just wanted send a massive thank you for organizing our trip to Bali and Nomads in Sumbawa. Fortunately there was only a few people staying in the resort and we scored pretty sick Supers and Scar. We were both totally stoked with the accommodation, all the staff were super friendly and Aaron's skills in the kitchen were epic. Would definitely go there again and try and score some waves on the off-season! Anyway thanks again for hooking us up mate.

Just a quick email to let you know that the trip to Tropical resort Sumbawa was great.Having not been there for 25 years I expected big changes. I can tell you there is still nothing there. Super Sucks, Scar Reef, & Yo Yos are still raw & untouched.Tropicals Resort could not be faulted. The staff were fantastic and did everything to make your stay a memorable experience. The food was a real stand out. They have a 24 year old chef named Jai from Aus who has really addressed the hygiene aspect....I can happily say that is the first time in 13 trips to Indo that I did not get the slightest rumble. The surf was extremely testing.....you go on these trips and hope for swell....well we had too much.We were fortunate enough to have Dane Reynolds stay at Tropicals for 5 days and got to see him surf 12 foot Super Suck & Yo Yos. Thanks again for your great organization.
