Surf & Other Activities
Kima Bali Surf Camp’s big plus is that surf guiding is inclusive – twice a day!
Monday to Friday they organise daily surf trips for all surf levels to various breaks all round Bali. What this means is that you can take part in at least two guided surf session per day. The surf spots they head for are graded according to the various surf levels and selected depending on the tide, swell and wind conditions. Our surf guides are familiar with the island, drive safely and give you a competent briefing on each surf spot. The guides always surf with you in the water, giving you helpful advice to take your surfing to the next level. Once a week the sessions are filmed so that the analysis afterwards can help you identify the mistakes you’re making and sort these out.
Choose the surf sessions that suit you best the evening before – depending on your preferences and skills and simply enter your name in the list. The Kima surf guides will be pleased to help you make your choice.
Total surf beginners can book the Learn-to-Surf Package which includes 3 days of surf school with beginner friendly soft-top surf boards. They offer this package in collaboration with the licensed Rip Curl School of Surf which is situated in Legian Beach (Seminyak/Kuta).
Those who have mastered the take-off and paddling can directly participate in our regular surf guiding. Perfect conditions for beginners provide the numerous beach breaks of Kuta, the "home break" Berawa and the gentle semi-beach breaks of Batu Bolong and Old Man's.
Besides Berawa Beach, Bali offers a whole series of soft reef breaks and semi-beach breaks for intermediate surfers. Many perfect waves nearby or famous spots a bit further away will push your skills and maybe even make you an advanced surfer by the end of your stay.
Of course it is also the advanced surfers that really get their money’s worth in Bali. The powerful reef breaks of Canggu, e.g. Perenenan or Echo Beach are just 10 minutes car ride away and are suitable for taking your surfing to perfection. Further wave highlights all round Bali are on our schedule as well: the legendary Airport breaks, the classic Bali waves such as Dreamland and Balangan or the world famous spots like Padang-Padang, Keramas or Uluwatu. Please calculate a car ride of minimum 50 minutes to reach these surf spots.
The major concept of the Kima Bali Surf Camp is to get to know what's going on in Bali.
Here on the island don’t miss out on culture and other activities, you can book these trips additionally when you get here. Hindu Bali offers not only endless temples, royal palaces and rice terraces in the island’s interior, the coastal towns have loads of opportunities for shopping, dining and hanging out with the right people. For the sports fans there is a wide spectrum: diving, wake/kiteboarding, stand-up paddling, volcano trekking, rafting, mountain biking or tree top climbing.
Phillip and Ary are happy to assist you with organisation and booking of such trips.
Camping cars with a driver or guide can be booked on weekends for a reasonable price.
Those who love to set off on their own and are not afraid of the Balinese traffic can rent a scooter to get to the beach, the supermarket or for shopping trips to Kuta / Seminyak (international driving license required).
We have various surf boards in all kind of shapes available. If you don't mind the haul, feel free to bring your own equipment or favourite board with you, so you can put them to the ultimate test here. Board shorts, booties and wax can be bought here at reasonable prices.
Leashes are included in the rental, however, possible repairs of the board have to paid for. If you want to be on the safe side as far as ding repair is concerned, you can “insure” your rental board for €25. That means that we will carry the costs for any repairs over a period of 1 – 3 weeks, whether it’s a tiny dent or a major break. Any damage will of course be immediately and professionally repaired. If the board or parts of it get lost - for instance gone forever sailing over the wide, wide sea – the costs have to be borne by the user.
