It is with great pleasure that we welcome ‘Cold Springs’ to our list of waves.

If any of you were watching the swell charts for our last charter, you would have seen that PNG has been suffering from a little extra wind than what we are usually accustomed to.

Once again, the good skipper knew exactly what waves were going to favour these conditions. Heading to a zone with huge potential, and with after only a little bit of hunting, we discovered our second new wave in as many trips.

Cold Springs is a left and right peak.

The right running longer, starts with a nice roll in and slowly hollows up before arriving at an inside section that dishes up a very nice tube opportunity. The left is a quick drop and then race, race, race. Although, we believe that on a slightly different swell angel there is some serious potential for the left to also be amazing.

The opening day was a massive success, something our guests really enjoyed. Cold Springs is also a wave we will continue to visit, so look for the pics in future reports.

After the wind dropped it was time to head south and finish off the trip with perfect over-head waves and tubes.

It seems Santa has left us a nice present in regards to swell, so trip 4’s report should be a cracker.

Merry Christmas from all the crew at PNGS.
