Early season in the Maldives has delivered plenty of bowls!

Who can forget the waves ex South African pro Sean Holmes and his crew scored down south in March? If you happened to miss one of 3 blog posts documenting that remarkable trip that Perfect Wave photographer Andy Potts filmed,  do yourself a favour and at least watch the clip here.

Sean said, “In my view the Maldives is a “bucket list” destination in terms of the overall experience. The quality and variety of waves, pristine diving, excellent fishing, kiting, SUP’ing, foiling and postcard scenery, it has it all.

For travelling Europeans and South Africans, the close proximity adds to the convenience of the journey.

For my Aussie friends it is easier than hitting the Ments.

We scored a bunch of quality reef set ups uncrowded and took turns getting slotted.”

Throughout April & May, Perfect Wave photographer Margarita Salyak hung out on the Naera down South.

Margarita said, ” The conditions were absolutely incredible most of the time. Super glassy and pretty consistent 4ft to 6ft on a bunch of days. The line ups were mostly empty, so our guests could enjoy it all for themselves most of the time. Our surf guide and absolute legend Marty would always make everyone super stoked, no one was disappointed lets put it that way. ”
