I recently had the pleasure of spending some time enjoying Niyama Resort Maldives. Here are my top 5 takeaways from the experience.

Wave out front

The high line and jelly legs never felt so good, with long walls and plenty of wave to work with.

So uncrowded you could tell a night’s worth of stories on the waves you let through.

Aquarium clear water offers entertainment between waves.

There’s nobody around so you’re stoked to see someone paddle out for a chat.

Dreamy down the line surfing, the wave is made for flow.

5+  Star service

Whether it’s remembering a coffee order or simply your name, the staff have the fine details covered.

Your friendly butler is a fine balance of attentive yet respectful to your time and space.

Underwater, floating, tree house, poolside or bare sandy feet, the many concept restaurants offer diversity and an exciting experience beyond the plate.

Luxurious Massive Beach villas

Spacious and luxurious is not a generous enough description of the room.

Grand sized rooms with a feel of down to earth comfort.

I’ve never been a room kind of person on holiday but….

Stunning white sand beach front location with lush landscaping to offer privacy.

Recounting the trip, surprisingly one of the first things I rave about was the bathroom.

Kids club – world class, apparently.

Didn’t look, don’t have them but heard it was good

Reggae Sunset Bar on the surf point

A cocktail of surfed out, sunset views, reggae music and a splash of rum. My favourite place on the entire island.

This spot has a very distinct and attractive culture, feel, look and taste that you can’t find in many places.

If laying on a swinging day lounge watching an amazing wave with a cocktail in hand at sunset doesn’t sound good, maybe holidaying isn’t for you.
