It has been a great start to the season in the Mentawais during April and May. There has been no shortage of swell and the weather has been perfect, it’s been a great coupla months in the islands.

Day 5 of our charter was one of the prime standout days. We surfed solid 4-6ft , 17 sec period HT’s with variable to light offshore winds, It was on fire with a late afternoon glass off.

Clean 4-6 feet lines some doubling up and breaking from the office, with only 2 guys out, but word got around fast.

By the end of the day there was 4 boats on it.

The days leading up were a litter bigger around 8ft, but nowhere near as clean or consistent as day 5 .

Macaronis on Day 8 was also a highlight. We arrived to the anchorage at Macca’s with the expectation of crowds.

We had no booking, and even in early season its hard to get a mooring in the bay, We were gifted a day of 3-5 feet clean and perfect Macaronis. There were 2 swells on the day with a solid west front reinforcing a consistent SW primary making for an interesting mix of swells, 3-5ft @ 16s drain pipes reeling off the reef all day.\

Thunders Day 9 was the other standout day.

We arrived at Thunders after an already amazing few days.

You’re in the elements down there and sometimes you just go with the wind, and the the wind was strong in small intense intervals.

Thunders was on all afternoon with an amazing sunset session surfing into the dark with 4-6ft waves @ 17sec with light winds and hollow tubes. After these few days we knew we had made the trip something special for the guests and all involved.
