If you have ever wanted to suss what a bunch of absolutely frothing  2nd , 3rd and even 4th gen grommets looks like, you could do no worse than cruise down to the Hurley BL Blast Off. Last week (the first flat week of the NSW school holidays) BL’s Blast Off ran at Sydney’s Whale Beach in tiny waves. Do you think the lack of swell dampened either the groms’ or BL and his team’s enthusiasm ?

No way!

365 groms, 14 years and under, went mad during the first week of school holidays in the only surfing event of its kind. For many it is the first experience of an organised surfing event. The format promotes encouragement and coaching, as well as other surf and non surf activities making this event stand out on the calendar.

So make sure you have a look at The Blast Off videos below and click here if you want to join Barton and Holly on their May 2014 Maldives coaching trip. The Perfect Wave were really stoked to jump aboard as sponsors of this 8th version of the event.

It made sense to us to support Barton’s event, because BL does at least one “Legends” trip annually with The Perfect Wave where he invites the public aboard on the trip of a lifetime. So we gave away a spot on BL’s 2014 The Perfect Wave Maldives Legends trip to raffle off and support The Surfrider foundation.

Can’t wait till next year.
