What Can I Expect?
Rubio Plantation Retreat starts from its own private beach with a barrelling
A-frame peak out the front, best viewed from the dining area, and goes high up into the mountains where there’s many trails to explore. Or jump in the truck and go exploring, highlights include long Indo style waves at Loggers Left, hollow A-Frames at Kanons or point style rights at Bulu.
Vanimo Surf Lodge
Leave the crowds behind and explore a Papua New Guinea surfing frontier with long walling rights out front. Vanimo Surf Lodge is traditional beachfront huts in a surf rich region and a consistent window of Nort Pacific Swells.
What Can I Expect?
The right-hander just outside Vanimo Surf Lodge, Lido’s Right, is super consistent and offers long rides. Lido Left is only 250m level walk away, but they also have a vehicle that they may take to 6 surfers to surrounding surf breaks which are about 10-15 minutes drive away east and west of Vanimo Surf Lodge.
Nusa Island Retreat
The best resort, restaurant and bar in PNG is also its finest surf destination. Kavieng is a playground of reefs and islands facing all directions ensuring there will be an uncrowded wave in most conditions.
Nusa Island Retreat is situated on a sheltered white sandy point which offers safe swimming and encompassing views back across the aqua blues of Kavieng Harbour.
What Can I Expect?
It exudes a relaxed easy going feel from the moment you set foot on the beach and bury your toes in the sand. They have simple, high quality traditional island-style bungalows that can cater for up to six people, the Premium Bungalows are built over the water and have ensuite bathrooms and the Standard Bungalows are built right on the beach.
