Our most recent May trip on the Aileoita 1 was all about surfing alone. Our guests specifically asked us to seek out solo time if possible.

So, after the two main stops at Hollow Trees and Macaronis (everybody needs to surf these two waves once in their life) we headed south in search of solitude. We had so much time down south that we managed to go a lot further south than the normal Mentawai surf routes.

We ended up surfing a sick right hander with ultra clear water and amazing fishing. We stayed as long as possible, nobody wanted to leave that magic place.

The crew caught so many fish that I almost needed to ask the guests to stop fishing,  because our freezer was so full of Giant Trevally, Tuna and coral fish. We also surfed empty Greenbush, Rags Left, and a bunch of other breaks.

Now in Padang, it’s time to refill the boat and get ready for the next adventure. Let’s see what the swell does for us!

P. S. We still have 4 spots available on the 5-17 June trip on Aileoita 1. The buzz around Mentawai this season is that there is much, much less people here than last year. Most charters are scoring very uncrowded waves. The trip is only AU$2,997 per person (that’s $726 OFF – last minute deal). I really hope to see you on this trip!!

Sampai Jumpa!
