As summer fades into autumn, and the daily work grind inevitably starts to become just a little monotonous, it is time to plan and book a well-deserved autumn or winter escape.
Kandooma Resort, the Maldives is our number one destination. Here’s 10 compelling reasons why it should be yours too…

1. Easy Access/Affordable Rates

kand001

The Maldives is easier to access and also more affordable than you may think. At Kandooma Resort you will enjoy luxury accommodation at highly affordable rates, including exclusive Stay 5 pay 4, and 15% Early bird discounts. At an average tariff of $170 per day, per person, based on twin share accommodation – you can stay in paradise.

2. Closest Accommodation to the Line-Up

kand002

Kandooma offers the closest accommodation to take off point in the world. I challenge anyone to find a closer room to take off point anywhere in the world. The take off zone is barely 30 metres from the closest room. Kandooma Right is definitely one of the best waves in the Maldives. The wave itself suits intermediate surfers, and at the same time will challenge the most advanced board rider looking for a barrel.

3. Limited Surfer Numbers

kand003

Kandooma runs a strict limit on the number of surfers on the island. The maximum is 50 – which guarantees un-crowded waves. There are also 3 dhonis that regularly travel to a variety of other lefts and rights in South Male. There are 7 other set ups nearby, ensuring you can be surfing different waves when you want.

4. A Culinary Experience kand004

Award winning Iron chef Vincent Tan has just taken over as Executive Chef, taking the quality of food to the next level. There are four restaurant options offering a wide array of dining experiences. You will never be bored eating at the same restaurant night after night. There are regular theme nights with local Maldivian dancers, and the Fishermans market is always popular. Our favourite is the Kitchen, Dine-in Night, which offers all you can eat in the fine dining establishment on the beach, complete with champagne and shark feeding for the kids.

5. New Kids Club

kand005

The resort has recently launched a brand new kids club. Rest assured you can sneak off for a surf or massage and know the kids are having a great, safe time.

Both settings are so picturesque. Relax with old buddies, or meet new friends over a sunset cocktail.

7. The Perfect Wave’s Management Team Never Stop Smiling

kand010

Rob and Jolie are back again for a fourth consecutive season. Rob heads up his hand-picked team comprising 4 local surf guides, 3 dhoni crew members and surf instructors to look after all our surfing guests no matter what level. Jolie will look after our guest relations, and of course host her now world famous yoga sessions.

8. Surf Music In Paradise Series

kand008

Last year we kicked off with 2 intimate Donavon Frankenreiter gigs in 7 days. This year we have stepped things up a notch. From June 20 – 27, Pete Murray is playing three shows in 7 days and from September 6-13, the legendary frontman from The Beasts of Bourbon, Cruel Sea and Tex, Don and Charlie fame – Tex Perkins will also be performing three gigs in 7 days. Can you imagine Tex’s set list? Wow!

9. Surf Coaching by Some of the World’s Best

kand009

Australia’s original queen of the waves, 1990 World Surfing Champion Pam Burridge, is hosting a 10-day coaching clinic with her world-renowned shaping guru hubby, Mark Rabbidge, this August. Multiple Australian champion Mark “Richo” Richardson (Parko’s coach) is also hosting a week-long clinic this Sept. As we send this out, we are hoping to confirm Occy dates too.

10. Surf Centre, Spa and Yoga

kand007

We have our own The Perfect Wave surf shop – so if you have forgotten or lose anything we have it covered. We have a ding repair service and a full array of brand new rental boards and SUPs, you will never miss a session. We also provide a photography service to capture all your tubes and manoeuvres. You can view photos of you at the surf centre each day on the big screen and relive your best waves. Finally, the best thing about Kandooma resort is that your non-surfing friends and/or family will have just as good a holiday as you. Not only is the early-morning yoga essential to rejuvenate, but also the spa with full service massage and treatments will ensure you come home a new person.
