Hello from Bob McTavish!
You may or may not be aware that I’ve been working as an ambassador for The Perfect Wave for several years now – hosting Signature Series Maldives trips and more recently doing some fundraising for A Perfect Foundation.
At Easter, I scooted over to New Zealand with The Perfect Wave and helped launch Glen’s NZ TPW office in New Plymouth. We lucked into some great waves, I judged some heats and met some great people competing in the NZ Masters.
Prior to my NZ sojourn, I was up at Noosa for the Noosa Surfing Festival and more recently I have been enjoying the clean sutumn conditions closer to home around Byron, and shaping quite a few boards out of the McTavish factory in the Bay.
It has been a great Autumn in Northern NSW and the shark hysteria that swept the region last winter and spring seems to have settled somewhat.
I’ve been doing a bunch of work on my house, shaping more boards than ever, and am looking forward to a European shaping stint.
I have been surfing for well over 50 years and I have had some of the very best waves of my life in the Maldives on my recent trips with The Perfect Wave.
If you haven’t yet been to the Maldives, may I suggest you try and get yourself on one of The Perfect Wave’s charters – Brian and his team of guides will look after you extremely well, or otherwise stay on land at beautiful Kandooma Surf Resort or Brian’s freshly renovated Cokes Surf Camp.
Sit back and watch the interview I did this week for my friends Ben, Jamie and Andy at The Perfect Wave.
