Telo Island Lodge surfing

Traditionally, the peak surf season in this part of the world runs between April/May until September. Outside this period, you can get waves from late February until October/November. In the shoulder months, the swell tends to be a bit smaller, so it is suitable for intermediate surfers and longboarders.

The first trip of 2014 started just a few days ago. Check out the surf report from today – If user-friendly waves are what you are after, there are few places that can match the experience of Telo Island Lodge.

FILLING IN – February 25, 2014

Morning dawned to the hum of an energized ocean and we couldn’t get around to The Left fast enough.

If yesterday was good, today, by comparison, was great.

Overcast skies kept the conditions glassy and some well-overhead sets and a few barrels added to the excitement. It’s easy to see why Max’s Left is close to the hearts of many return guests.

In the great Telo Island Lodge tradition of mixing it up, we headed to LeBa for the afternoon session, and while not quite as epic as the morning’s outing at the left, the two-to-four foot racy rights running down the island had us all thoroughly entertained.

Quality waves with no-one around. It’s the stuff of dreams.

Bring on tomorrow!
