Video: One Perfect Day In Hawaii
January is usually an insane month to go surfing on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii. Ninety per cent of the pros that converge on the Seven Mile Miracle for the November/December contest season usually head home pre-Christmas. In short, January usually pumps and is way less crowded1
However, January 2017 was super unusual, the first 10 or so days of the new year were 3ft. Rocky Point was getting a serious work-over and then, all of a sudden, by mid month Pipe went ballistic.
a
The Backdoor shootout ran in perfect conditions mid month, and then on January 19 everything came together for the day of the season.
Watch the clip, there’s literally 10 or so waves at the Pipeline that were legit “wave of the season” entrants!
a
The world’s best surfers and underground chargers took to Pipeline. World Champ John John Florence, Josh Kerr, Koa Rothman, Mason Ho and many more Pipeline legends were on hand to score what could possibly be the day of the season. Just check out our photo gallery!
