Autumn is the best season for surfing in Europe by far.

While most of the tourists go home, the waves start firing in France, Spain, Portugal or Morocco. The weather and the water are still warm, and the Atlantic Ocean cranks up and delivers quality, consistent surf.

The major European surfing events such as Quiksilver Pro in France and the Rip Curl Pro World Surfing Championships in Peniche, Portugal take place at this time too.
