Anyone south of Tweed pretty much wished they were on the Gold Coast. The leading surf forecasting sites had the entire East Coast surfing fraternity pumped on the prospects, and to their credit most of the time both Ben’s get it so right, but in the case of Cyclone Gita, it was definitely Gold Coast or bust.
Unseasonably Solid! The SE swell that hit the East Coast mid month was biggest on the south coast of NSW. That's not to say beaches in Sydney, Newcastle, the north coast and even SE Qld didn't enjoy the drought breaking swell, it's just that southern NSW was the epicenter.

The seasons are so predictable here in the North Male region of the Maldives that I could probably just copy past the end of season surf summary that I wrote last year! You really can guarantee that late March/April will have small but beautiful surf every day.
