One of Hakuba's newest hotels, Powder Peak takes its name from the epic powder the Japanese Alps are world famous for. These guys have a fantastic location in the ski village, with easy access to the slopes. This proximity to the slopes is easily one of Powder Peak’s greatest assets. Along with the slopes, everything else that epitomizes Hakuba is right at your finger tips. Trendy bars, great restaurants and convenient public transport are all at your fingertips. On top of all of this, the recently renovated hotel has a great vibe that immediately puts you in a good state of mind. Just sit back, relax and enjoy some of the best Hakuba has to offer.
It's hard not to immediately love Powder Peak. This freshly renovated hotel in the heart of Hakuba has a clean, crisp aesthetic that immediately relaxes the visitor. Luckily, the place isn't just good looks. Powder Peak has a location that's hard to beat, right in the middle of the ski village, with the best of what Hakuba has to offer at your fingertips. There's plenty of restaurants and bars within easy walking distance, and the ski lifts are just a stone's throw away. It's also about a 10 minute drive from the Happo Onsen Area.
The hotel is notably smaller than many of its competitors in the area, with just nine rooms to choose from. However, they pack plenty of amenities into this little place, with ensuites, a drying room and gear storage. They also have a dining area that's unusually large for a Japanese hotel. To top it off, they actually have a decent bar. It's fully stocked, and has a pretty nice ambiance going. It's just an all round pleasant spot to relax after a day of skiing. Speaking of the skiing, Hakuba is famous for its brilliant powder, which draws flocks of visitors every season. The seasons themselves are long, meaning extended stays aren't a bad option.
All up, Powder Peak is a pretty good choice for anyone looking for a comfortable base to explore some of the world's best skiing. They also add in a few nice bells and whistles, such as free transfers to and from the local bus and train stations.
