North Male
Jails is actually the break off the island Himmafushi which used to actually have a jail on it. The jail has moved to a new one, but the name stays. This wave is a perfect right-hand reef break with a big wack able wall and fats sections to get a few cover ups. One of the most popular breaks due to the fact it isn’t a heavy wave and is normally a little smaller than its cousin Honkey’s across the channel.

North Male
Easy spot located off Thanburudhoo island on the other side of Honkey’s. Excellent and long right-hander that can become very walled and long but only with big swells from the south. One of the most consistent waves of the Male atolls that never closes out, even on large swells. It is best at high tide and with west to north winds.

North Male
One of the most consistent waves of North Male Atoll off the island of Thanburudhoo which is uninhabited. This is an excellent, long, world-class left-hander. Its mirror, Sultans, breaks on the other side of the island.

Surfing
The South Male area offers a tremendous variety in waves from peeling, playful rights to down-the-line left barrels. Experienced surfers can surf all day for free at Veli Left, a left-hand point break located a short paddle from Veli's pool bar. All other breaks are accessed by boat, the closest being five minutes, the furthest being thirty minutes from the resort. Quarters is an extremely user-friendly and long right that wraps in around an island just 5-minutes from the resort via boat. This wave is fun for all ability levels and board types, making it a great wave for the whole family to enjoy. Tucky Joes is located just 10 minutes via boat from Anantara Dhigu, it's a perfect left that is extremely hollow and can provide one of the best rides in the Maldives. Pick one with a nice roll in section and set up your line for what could be the wave of your life.
