There’s over 2000 kms of coastline with point breaks, reef breaks and beach breaks receiving swells from the storms in the both the South & North Pacific. Olas Peru Surf Tours, operating since 1992, employ surf guides that have all been surfing the Peruvian coast for many years amd possess comprehensive knowledge of where you will get the best waves at any particular time – based on weather, tides, swell and forecasted predictions.

Chicama
Five sections that offer consistent hollow, fast, and powerful barrelling waves up to 1.5km long.
Pico Alto
Literally translated as Tall Peak, this is one of world’s premier big wave spots.
Huanchaco
According to the legend, 800 years ago Prince Tacaynamo and his court disembarked in Huanchaco in little horses made of totora reeds, to found the first Moche dynasty. The traditional crafts called the “caballitos de totora” (little horses of totora reeds) have been used by fishermen in the north coast of Peru since pre-Columbian times. Since they are still used nowadays, surfers can surf beside them and even enjoy a ride.
Pacasmayo
Endless left that have several sections, some speedy and barrelling, and others thick and slow, from 3 to 10 feet.
Peomape
Regional classic, barrelling, fast waves from 3 to 8 feet that provide a speedy ride of approximately 300 meters at a time.

Chicama Dreams – 8 days/7nights
This trip takes you through the Central Peruvian coast and will have you surfing the world’s longest left – the famous, Chicama, which gets to about 2kms long! You will visit other empty surf breaks in this area and experience the land of the Mochicas, the first surfers on earth, and discover their ancient settlements.
Mancora Peru Surf Classic – 8 days/7 nights
This trip travels up to the north, to a popular surf area called Mancora. Here you will find warmer waters and plenty of barrels. There are approximately 15 different surf spots you can visit in the area, most of them only a few kms from Mancora
Lonely Barrels – 14 days/13 nights
This trip will combine the 2 above, taking you around both the central and northern coasts, from the long, lonely lefts of Chicama, to the tropically warm waters of famous Mancora. With Lonely Barrels you stop at more beaches at the beginning and take more time to get up to the north (two days at Huanchaco and just one day at Chicama and Pacasmayo) and stay more days in Mancora.
Stayin' Stoked - 14 days/13 nights
Stayin’ Stoked is similar to Lonely Barrels but you go straight to Huanchaco and then stay more days at Chicama, Pacasmayo and Mancora, and come back stopping on the way for a little bit longer at Pacasmayo
Surfing
In the summer (Dec to Apr) the surf averages 2 to 5 foot with some days easily reaching 10 foot; in the winter (May to November) you generally get 4 to 8 foot with days at 10 foot very common. In the North Coast, Talara & Mancora, you will find tropical water and year round sunny weather. Their point breaks offer fast, hollow tubes. Most known is El Hueco, Cabo Blanco, Lobitos, Organos, Mancora & Bayovar, all lefts - many of which are world class. The Central Coast is made up of Centinela, Huanchaco, Chicama and Pacasmayo. Again nearly all waves are left and most of them are long. Most known is Centinela, Bermejos, Playa Grande, Huanchaco, Chicama (longest left in the world!), Pacasmayo, Peomape & El Golf. Again many of these are world class.
Surf N' Volunteer
Using surfing to promote sustainable development, WAVES has began an ongoing program to improve the lives of the youth of Lobitos in Northern Peru. Programs focus on swimming and surfing lessons, English language classes environmental conservation, social entrepreneurship and nutrition. Volunteers are needed to help implement the programs while surfing the perfection of Lobitos. The program consists of two parts: Part One – A seven day 4x4 surf trip with Olas Peru Surf Travel, travelling from point to point surfing remote world class waves through the Northern Desert Region of Peru, from Lima to Mancora on the far North coast. Part Two – A fourteen-day surf camp surfing the perfection of Lobitos, helping 'WAVES for Development' improve the lives youth of this remote desert community. WAVES have been donated 400 surfboards by Global Surf Industries, and we help with education and surf coaching programs.
