Glorious Hotel is well placed in downtown Hakuba to accommodate for visitors hoping to get onto the ski slopes quickly and easily. From the hotel, its just a few minutes by food to transport to the Hakuba Happoone Winter Resort, one of Japan's top skiing destinations. Other skiing areas are likewise easily accessible from the hotel, and the friendly, English speaking staff are always happy to help with directions or just general information on Hakuba. There’s also a great on site hot spring, which is a great reward after a day of skiing. Overall, it’s not a bad mid range pick for Hakuba.
Located in downtown Hakuba, Glorious Hotel is just a short walk from Happoone Ski Resort and, within minutes of several other world-class attractions.
Happoone first garnered international fame in 1998, when it was the venue for that year's winter Olympics. The region has pristine scenery, with stunning white peaks as far as they eye can see.
Glorious itself largely caters to skiers looking to grab a slice of Happoone in the winter months. From the hotel, it's easy to find Hakuba's main bus terminal, which has regular buses to Happoone. The region's other ski areas are also mostly easy to access with public transport from the town.
This hotel caters to both Japanese and foreign guests. English speaking staff and western style rooms are available. There are on site hot springs, which can be a real treat after a day of skiing. The hotel also boasts modern “curvilinear” architecture, which the owners say creates a soothing atmosphere.
Glorious also offers a range of other services for guests, including Japanese and western meals, and the staff can provide solid information on Hakuba and the surrounding areas. The area around the hotel is also quite lively. Downtown Hakuba has plenty of restaurants and bars, most of which are within walking distance from Glorious.

Surf & Other Activities
Hakuba's biggest draw card is its winter sports. The nearby Mount Karamatsu taunts skiers from the minute they arrive with its gleaming white slopes. The best way to get some of the action is at the mountain's Hakuba Happoone Winter Resort. The resort hosted the 1998 winter Olympics, and is today one of Japan's most well known winter sports destinations. Getting to the slopes is relatively easy from the hotel. Glorious Hotel is located just a few minutes from Hakuba's main bus terminal. From there, it's just a one hour bus trip to Happoone. While Happoone is the area's most famous ski resort, it's certainly not the only one. Near Happoone to the south of town are Hakuba 47 and Goryu, which both offer some great skiing. To the north of Hakuba there are more slopes at Iwatake, Tsugaike, Norikura, and Cortina.
Off the slopes, Hakuba also has some other great cultural attractions. Matsumoto Castle and the stunning Zenkoji Temple are both within a stone throw of the village. In summer, the surrounding countryside also offers some excellent hiking, along with other outdoor activities like canoein
