Kiseki is a an old-meets-new apartment building very centrally located in the upper village. While there’s plenty to do at the end of the day, it’s also a very handy spot to get to the lifts in the morning – even if you’ve got a bit of a hangover after one too many mojitos at Wild Bill’s!

Kiseki once was Happy Bell Cottages, one of the original simple old Japanese accommodation options in Hirafu. Its time was well and truly up so it was recently refurbished bringing it back to a modern standard with extremely comfortable furnishings and modern design and fittings.

There are three apartments in the building – two are 1-bedroom/1-bathroom, and one is 2-bedroom/2-bathroom. All are set over two levels – see the floorplans in the photo gallery for more details. The apartment designs have been really well thought out to maximise space and make for comfortable and convenient holiday living.

The apartments come with full kitchens including oven and grill, as well as microwave, toaster and all accessories required for cooking your average meal. Lounge rooms have flat screen TVs with satellite channels and DVD. There’s also free wifi internet piped through all apartments.

There is a ski storage area in the shared entrance. Each apartment has its own laundry facilities with washer and dryer as well as iron and ironing board – these may come in handy as two of the fanciest restaurants in Hirafu – Kamimura and Le Cochon – are just three minute’s walk away from the front door!

Accommodation

Kiseki’s two apartment configurations both sleep four people.

The 2-bedroom apartment has a fixed queen-size bed in each room. One of the rooms has an ensuite bathroom. The other is a shared bathroom.

Meanwhile the two 1-bedroom apartments each have one queen-size bed and one double bunk.

Surf & Other Activities

Just a few minutes walk downhill is the main flat road through Hirafu, where there are convenience stores, a supermarket/deli, restaurants, bars, cafes and more. Just a few minutes walk in another direction across flat ground is the other main street Hirafu Zaka street), which runs up to the ski lifts. Again there’s plenty of everything on this street and several onsen (hot spring baths) – the closest one is at Hirafutei Prince Hotel just 50m or so up the hill (open to the public).

From either street you can catch the free shuttle bus to any lift in the village. The other option from here is to walk to Hirafu Zaka Street, cross the road and down the lane by Suiboku to the family lift and straight onto the slopes. Beginners and intermediates can spend their day here, and more advanced skiers can lift-hop their way up the hill from here.

Lorenz was so delightful and helpful from the start to the end of the holiday to Japan.  He was clear, organized and was helpful to answer questions I had while we were on the holiday, countries away.  Would definitely book with him again!
