Finding Nemo III – The Ayada Resort
So Kandooma was a pleasure, even in the late season we scored 3-4 foot glassy waves most days.
The promise of bigger waves and more Nemos to see brought us to the Southern Atolls to one of the most beautiful resorts I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting.
The waves were long and empty. I surfed just with the Ayada surf guide most of the time and we welcomed a couple of surfers who jumped off a boat as it was hard work catching every set wave.
The waves are in close proximity to the resort, Love Charms was just a 5-10 minute boat ride away and our surf guide knew exactly where the conditions would be best each day. There are waves suitable for beginners as well as chargers. The guides there told me that the waves work all year around except for December and the winds in July / August are strong so those are the only months to avoid.
We are currently absolutely inundated with bookings for the school holidays for the Maldives, The Ayada is a fantastic place to bring the kids, very family-friendly – they even have a fair-ground with candy floss and coconut shy as well as movie evenings that you can watch from the comfort of a seat IN the swimming pool – doesn’t get better than that!
