Tucky Joe's

Another week passes at Kandooma, with more satisfied guests leaving and new arrivals chomping at the bit to taste exactly just how good the surf is in the South Male Atoll of the Maldives.

After an early monsoon season the weather has cleared up, leaving us with perfect 30-degree weather while the swell over the last fortnight has been the most consistent I have seen all season.

Slightly variable winds and a solid 4 foot swell made conditions a little tricky early in the week but the back end of the week has seen all the best action delivered. During this down time, a handful of guests enjoyed surf lessons at our little secret spot located just off the island.

Later in the week, the wind dropped to nothing – leaving perfect glassy conditions at Riptides and Tucky Joe’s, which had guests loving life. One guest was heard saying after a perfect left at Tucky Joe’s: “I don’t care if I don’t catch another wave all trip, that was the whole reason I came”.

Honestly, Tucky Joe’s was as perfect as I’ve seen it, and the forecast shows at least 5 more days of solid swell and favourable light westerly trade winds which will ensure the majority of breaks should all be pumping.

We’re all happy campers at Kandooma!!
