Kandooma surf report – Images and words by Rob Underwood

5

After a 5-month offseason, I can’t say how excited I am to be able to come back to this beautiful tropical playground that is the chain of the Maldivian islands.

Early season April has not disappointed: perfect wave guests with light winds and a 2-3 foot south-east swell delivering pristine conditions for the small amount of surfers that have graced Kandooma Surf Resort‘s shore for the Easter long weekend.

Guests have enjoyed perfect Riptides all week, with nobody to share it with but ourselves: the right-hand rippable break giving absolute glass-like conditions, making resort guests happier than the proverbial pig.

The beauty of this place is immeasurable. Being fortunate enough to have access to these perfect waves in such a close proximity to the comfort of Kandooma Resort has me literally pinching myself at the thought of another season in this “dream-like wonderland “.

If you are lucky enough to have booked a trip this season, I really look forward to catching some waves and sharing this place with you and if you haven’t, you can still turn your dream into a reality.
